My coated JDL UEL header stays fairly cool. I'm in the same boat Gem was, but just not FI. When your summers are 100+ degrees, why not ceramic coat them? Any chance you can reduce heat by a significant amount, go for it. It also keeps the header in great condition over several years. My chrome coating has not peeled off, and still has a nice luster to it after several months. Regardless of what color you choose, go for it. This is by far the best UEL for this car and if you ever do have a problem, JDL will cover it. Lifetime warranty ftw!
