Does the switch supplied light up with the rest of the dash equipment, like the dimmer does? Or only the indicator LED when it's on? And, as asked earlier, does/can this setup trigger the OEM fog light indicator bulb in the dash?
If the button plugs into the existing connection behind the dash, then yes, I think so.

This is such a tempting purchase, but I always get nervous when the instructions strongly recommend removing the front bumper. Stuff like that makes me nervous.

Shouldn't need to remove the bumper at all. The bezels pop out, and you can access the fog light "holes" from under the car by loosening the splash shield.

Agree, though; I just can't decide between these or the Diode Dynamics, as I really like having glass housings, and will probably just wire mine into the parking lights...

Don't need to remove bumper. Check out Diode Dynamics vid on how to take bezels out and access the back of bumper, super easy

Fantastic, thank you. I'm having trouble finding the video, though. Any chance you can PM it to me or link it here? (not sure how FT86SF would like having a competetor's video in their thread).

EDIT: Nevermind, found their Youtube Channel.

I'm not electrically savvy enough to tell from looking at the pics on SF's site, so hopefully someone can chime in.

There's a 4-pin connection in the linked install of the "OEM switch"; this switch lights up when on AND triggers the in-dash indicator, since it taps into that hidden connector. Does the Spyder kit have the ability to attach to that connector as well? I'd like both of those functions (switch light and dash light) if I go for the switch route. Or, does that setup require the use of the existing OEM wiring in the car? I can't really tell from the write-up He mentions popping connections and pins in and out, and I don't see any of that in the Diode video, which is basically plug-n-play.

I'd LIKE to have the switch, just for the sake of options, even though I'd be running the fogs 99.99% of the time that the parking lights are on, so maybe it's just easier to tap into those and skip all the extra wiring...

Ugh.

if you do end up getting the kit and not using the switch and the panel, i'd be interested in it. i'm kind of a lighting addict and need the extra switch location..

FT86SF is awesome, and I don't want to derail the thread and cost them sales, so I'll just stop with that. I was just sharing my previous experience with Spyder on another platform, which I thought bears some relevance. These will sell like hotcakes regardless.
I bought the Spyder fog lights and don't like them aesthetically. I exchanged them for Toyota's OEM fog lights which look fantastic :on my whiteout.

So another strike against Spyder? Just curious, but what about them didn't you like? I've been on the fence between those and the Diode kit, given their differences (OEM bezels, glass housings, tinted lenses, etc).

Guess I'll be going with Diode+Lamin-X when I pull that trigger

Spyder fog lights look like a knockoff of the Toyota OEM (http://toyotaofmcdonoughparts.net/pr...-fog-light-kit) Fog lights . Thats the only way I can describe the Spyder fog lights.

After much support from Jeremy and Yo, we finally got a pair of working bulbs. Bezels still don't sit right, but it's not terrible. Since I tinted the front markers, it's not as obvious that they're out of place.

I may try and source some OEM bezels down the road.

Yes, I read your review FR-Slide, I was hoping there would be 90% more positive ones and you got a bad batch, rather than them all being bad.

considering spyder's fogs....hope this helps

I didn't get them from ft86 speedfactory... simple install really but if you are a perfectionist, you are going to have a challenge on your hands...fog bezels dont fit right, not oem fit at all, if you look in detail, you notice instantly...will need oem bezels...2... button for fogs is not same material as stock, is more glossy so it will stand out in the cabin...3... you will have to work with pins in the bulbs, be careful not to break them, they have a very poor design and if not treated well, they will break when trying to get them work...usually is only one that give trouble not both...there other threads reviewing this kits, so if you are reading this opting for this kit keep looking, you will find this same setbacks i have mentioned.....overall is good for the money paid...but i had to invest on oem foglight bezels
