8 seconds faster would definitely possible on R-comps or R-S3's, but with a stock BRZ on Primacy's a 2:07 would be pretty difficult

It was my first time on track with the car though so I think there is still some time in that lap. Mike says the '14 cars may be a bit better built and I sold my car, so unfortunately I won't be able to try again with a stock '13.

I think most of the time could be gained in T11. Watch where the cones were in T12. They were very close to the apex. On most other track days I've been there, they usually allow you to fully cut the yellow paint in T12 which would allow you much higher exit speeds from T11. Also, doing the pedal dance would have helped on trail braking.

I registered for 3/22 @ Thill with NCRC. This will start NorCal's 86Cup. When you register, select 86Cup button and follow the screens. 86Cup participants will be placed in the Point-By (or higher) group by default but if you have an issue with that, you can talk to NCRC or PM me here. They may also direct you to an email account which will be mine. You will also need to rent a transponder from NCRC (unless you have one) on the day of the track.

The day of (if not sooner) participants will get 2 forms: 1.registeration/classification of your 86 and 2.a points/scoring page.

Remember, there will be 4 classes (stock, street, modified, and super modified). Your lap times will be based on the class of your 86.

I'd like to make it fair so the super modified class will be those very experienced drivers who's lap times are so much faster that their cars become irrelevant. That leaves the other class' participants closer to each other.

Thanks for your time and I'll see you at the track (or at the local meet ).

Cool, I will register for Mar 22 event soon.
I'll be in Street class with, as of today, 2.125 points.

Nice. We'll be in the same run group (Point-By) but we won't time the same - you being in street class and I in modified class.

Also, yes you're more than welcome to come to the track just to hang out. Shouldn't cost you anymore than the gas and time you use to get there.

Does NCRC have loaner helmets? I would like to make the inaugural event if possible.

Edit: Nevermind, just saw T-hill rents helmets.

Definitely recommend buying your own helmet as opposed to rely on a loaner. What if you show up and they're all gone, you're stuck.

Some might say that you don't know whether or not you will like going to the track enough to buy one, but all we know is, YOU WILL LIKE IT! LOL

Receiving inquiries about the Solo group as opposed to the Point-By that NCRC is requesting the 86Cup to be ran in. Until further said, go in the Point-By group.

Also, there will be 2 quick 86Cup registration pages to fill out. 1) a points sheet and 2) a class sheet. They will be printed out and available at the track.
