I would buy what helps the car retain its fun factor, while building the car you want slowly. Before boosting buy the wheels, tires, suspension you want. All those will need to be addressed with a boosted vehicle anyways, you might as well do it and have some fun learning the characteristics of the car before jumping in head first.
I have the money for my suspension set up but haven't taken the car to the track in its stock form. I'm def going to do that first. Just to know if what I'm adding is really a better choice over stock. |

Wheels, tires, brakes and suspension take precedence over more power in my books, build the car up so that it can utilize very little bit you are giving it.

Just take it to the track as a stock form. See what you want to upgrade.
I did it and I just want to get a set of lightweight wheels and sticky tires. Didn't really feel like I need additional power for now. I noticed that I couldn't even properly use that 200hp, why add more? I need to upgrade a driver mod before adding any more power to the ground. |

Wheels and tires first. Then figure out what you like about the engine. It may be that what you want really is NA, or SC, not Turbo. Also, consider fluid changes too after break-in, as well as better brake pads and putting in RBF600 (or is it 400?) brake fluid. You know, stuff that'll simply help it do better what it already does. As you learn the car more and more you'll get a sense for exactly what you want to do for it. Dumping all your money right now is a great way to start the cycle of paying twice. Don't do it. A wise carpenter says "Measure thrice, cut once." A smart tuner-car driver says "Think thrice, buy once."

i can see wanting to add power for street driving where its easy to use power but i imagine that the 200hp the car comes with is more than enough to keep you busy on the track. every time i think about doing something to my track car i say to myself "you cant even use all the power you have now. why do you want more?"
if you want to have a fast car, save up for a supercharger unless you have access to e85. if you want to go around a track fast, spend time on track days, instructors, and a datalogger. |
