Well there you have it.... If you like to go 'rip ass' around back roads, I would look no further than the FR-S. I just picked up my 2014 FR-S 6M at the dealer a week ago and needless to say I am overjoyed! I read this forum and compared notes on several vehicles for weeks. My only dilemma was should I go with the MT or the AT. Checkout YouaSince my FR-S is purely for fun, and I hadn't owned a MT in the past 30 years... I opted for the stick, and I am all smiles

I like to go rip ass around back roads with my buddies and the camaro can't really handle that.
Plus, looking into it the aftermarket parts are way cheaper for this than the camaro.
Ps. Sorry for the horrible spelling in the first post, I made it in the middle of class and was trying to act like I was paying attention.
You really just need to take some extended test drives before you buy anything. They are very different cars.

You also have a great forum name for a camaro owner

Just kidding..

Sorry for the typo in my last post - meant to state: Check out YouTube videos from TopGear on GT86, Leno's Garage on FR-S, and Randy Pobst test drive of the FR-S. This car is just plain fun!

I love my BRZ, but if I didn't have a big, brutish V8 car to accompany it (RS6) I might not be as happy with owning it.

Do yourself a justice and look at the BRZ Limited too. It is the twin in a suit that speaks more to you in the car.

Although there's something to be said about a 7:37 and 160mph in the rain at Nürburgring, it would get tiring driving a Z/28 every day. Just for fun:

If the Camaro were to lose about 500-700 lbs, I would love it again. But it has massive blind spots, weighs too much, and generally the Mustang GT 5.0 is a better buy currently.

Handling wise, the FR-S beats both cars by a landslide. Fast in a straight line, or fast on twisty roads and tracks, take your pick.

The mustang is fast on the twistys now.

I'd pick an frs/brz over a camaro any day.

Buy a Camaro if you want to pay for an engine. Buy an FR-S if you want to pay for engineering.

Agree, the current gen Mustangs (and Camaros) are fast in corners. Like you, I'd still pick a Twin over them though for the way they drive.

I guess I agree with the first statement if you're talking about the SS (or 5.0 GT) -- the V8 engines are a big selling point for those cars. But not sure what your latter statement means.

I'd say all of these cars have an impressive amount of engineering in them.
