Reducing squeel after HPDE
Carbotech XP10's in my BRZ worked fantastic for the HPDE i went to. Before the HPDE the brakes were only loud when i was on the pedal which i was perfectly fine iwth. Now after the HPDE the brakes seem to squeel pretty much all the time - i can tap the brakes and it seems to go away for a split second.
Any suggestions on what i can do? Was thinking about cleaning & re-lubing the caliper slides and cleaning off whatever grease didn't get burned off the back of the pads. There isn't any shims on the pads. |

XP10's are race pads, they squeal -> refer to Carbotech's definition.
Carbotech™ XP10™ is not recommended as a daily-driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. You should not be running these on the street. Get Carbotech 1521 bobcats for low noise/street use. |

Once again i'm not trying to say "OMG why are my race pad squealing guys!?" Rather asking what changed before and after the HPDE that's causing the noise. |

Did they start squealing right after the HDPE day, or was it a couple days after?
You can try re-bedding them, but from what you're describing I don't think it'll do much.

You are in essence cleaning off the pads after first use and the noise is going to happen as the pads are seated. As it appears you have never used XP10 pads before - this is perfectly normal - nothing you can do about it. So you learn to live with the noise "because racecar" or you get street pads to swap out. You can clean your rotors all you want - the noise will just come back. I agree CSG Mike will likely chime in a more technical or likely more accurate response. |

I'll pickup some Bobcat's and hopefully those will be a bit quieter between HPDE's. Thanks for your help.

This is why I have myself some nice AP Racing sprint brakes - easy to swap out the brake pads between track days and going back to street mode.
The bobcats will be fine on the street as I had them on my C6Z06 a while back and they dusted less than the stock brakes but had more bite. Just follow the AP racing diy on how to bed brakes when switching the pads. It works well if you can find the space to do the 60-5 mph brake runs. Oh forgot to add I am using Ferodo ds2500 and well they were quiet at first but once I got a GOOD run on them at my first HPDE at Texas World Speedway, they now squeal like a freight train a mile away. My buddy has the same setup and he also is gloriously loud when braking everywhere. He is lazy just like me and we have yet to swap street pads back in since well see "lazy." |

This is NOT normal.
I use Carbotech XP10's in the rear and even more aggressive XP12's in the front. They squeal like a freight train when stopping and shed dust like a coal factory. I use them on my supercharged ZO6 Which I run in Autocross, HPDE's, 1/4, and 1/2 mile events. The difference is, they do not squeal AT ALL when I'm not touching the brake pedal. Why should they? Any time the pedal is pressed, they squeal. Here is a video using those pads. There is no squealing whatsoever until the brakes are used a bit at the very end when they are slightly warm.
