Exactly. All the power on the bottom means you spin your wheels and then have no power to haul off.

3k is reached VERY fast. 2-3k is excellent for cruising and efficiency, so having not so much power there is good for maintaining fuel economy for a DD'd FI car. Want the power, then drop gears and keep above 4k.... assuming the tune (whether with FI or staying NA) and exhaust has eliminated the torque dip.

Debating between the KW and Vortech. I don't want to build the engine, and I don't want to keep climbing a power mountain whenever I upshift, but I don't want the power to give out a full 1-1.5k rpm before redline.

Maybe Vortech with smallest pulley offered that keeps the blower's revs within the 50k spec?

Innovate really should have put a blower on there that can keep up up top. They picked the better blower design but didn't use enough of a blower.

Its not really innovate is it, seeing as they don't manufacture the kit.... Oh, and they do have a new blower coming that will equal the others

We'll just have to see when they finally come out with it and when someone properly dynos it with a tune.

I'm on the fence because I see so many downsides to each setup. These may not be downsides to everyone, but here's what I don't like about each kit:

Vortech requires washer reservoir modification and doesn't work in cold temps.

Innovate doesn't provide top end power like the other kits. I am not a fan of the whine.

The kraftworks uses the cogged belt iirc. This will make it difficult to find a replacement?

JR kit uses stock belt but still takes a fluid that is way overpriced. WAY more overpriced than the Vortech system.

Innovate with the rumored upgraded blower is the only one I'm truly interested in at this point.

It uses a fluid that you change every 50k miles. 50,000. Works out to... 0.2 cents per mile, ($0.002 dollars per mile)

Your engine oil will work out to a higher cost per mile than that, even using the cheapest oil available.

The Innovate stg2 w/ 70mm pulley, header, exhaust, e85 and a good tune will surprise you quite a bit I think

Sprintex does have the new 210+ kit coming shortly and of course the 335 which is a huge blower for this car. I think the 210+ kit will put it in the same ballpark as the centrifugal kit while keeping the flat torque curve, and of course the whine. The 335 will eclipse any other superchargers out now but it's going to require good gas and for longevity a built engine.

that could be said about any of the kits with header, exhaust, e85 and a good tune.

Innovate stg 2: $4195
70mm pulley: $65
Header: $600
Exhaust: $855
Tune: $500
Inconvenience of E85 for most people: priceless

That's understating the price of a good quality header by quite a bit, actually.

The problem here is that several people have had to remove the system for a plethora of reasons. Any time the system is serviced, removed, disconnected etc, it's going to lose fluid and cost money to replenish. Unless, of course, you are really lucky and never have to remove the supercharger or have the possibility of losing fluid. If you can go a full 50k miles and be lucky enough to only go through one bottle, that's fantastic.

But it is a risk you take with either of these setups.

I gotta say unless you're doing a world tour challenge why would the price of the SC oil be a real concern? By time your deep into FI those are just items where you're tripping over nickels trying to save dollars you've long past anyhow?? Just saying.
