I've considered running one anyways but I go to alot of national level events. If I get lucky one time and do well I don't want someone calling me out on it. Yeah, they would have to be an absolute wiener to do it, but it's their right.

I meant on a national level as no one local would give two craps about it. Money just hasn't been right.

It's crazy how warm this oil gets!

Yeah if you were in a position to win a national event I'd guarantee it would be protested.

I haven't done much research but cars have ECU maps tied to oil temperature where an oil cooler might have a performance impact. The FR-S/BRZ DOES have compensation for high oil temps, but I'm not sure you would see anything that high in autocross, I certainly haven't.

I haven't done much research but I guess it's possible some cars have ECU maps tied to oil temperature where an oil cooler might have a performance impact. The FR-S/BRZ do not have an oil temp sensor, so they certainly don't fall into that category. They do have maps tied to coolant temperature, but I was asking for radiators.
There actually is an oil temp sensor. Some have observed that the ECU will begin to pull timing/power once oil crosses a threshold - I think ~270ish F - that has been seen on dynos but not sure if anyone has actually verified it in the code or in datalogs.

So in a dual-driven car on a hot day with not a lot of downtime it's conceivable an oil cooler could be a performance enhancer.

The factual term would be "performance retainer"

Yeah I was having a brain fart between oil temp and oil pressure. I even have an oil temp gauge hooked up and have monitored the factory sensor using torque to figure out the accuracy.
