Sorry to hear and best of luck. I also was laid off back in June, also in the legal field. 14 years at one firm. fortunately I was given a severance package that took care of me for 6 months. Well the paralegal job market has been tight here, at least in my area and at my level of experience. It was especially dead during the holidays so waited until now hoping things will pick up. Did a few interviews so far but nothing yet. Not sure if you have the skills/experience to try this but I'm also looking at positions in the e-discovery/litigation support field. Might consider that too if you have some experience with that.

No fun being laid off.. Happens a lot these days.. It happened to me years ago when the company I was working for got bought out and they cut the workforce by over half..
It's a bit overwhelming at first.. But keep your cool.. Start looking.. There are lots of opportunities out there.. You might end up better off working someplace else.. Hang in there..

Thank you for the kind words sir. I am pretty familiar with e-filing and the electronic discovery process here in FL. I will look into it.

Keep your head up OP, there's a lot of that going around these days but the economy is picking back up/business are expanding. You write well and seem like an intelligent guy. You'll do fine, stay positive.

so Mr. Nasty Sausage ... interesting name you've chosen. We are going to have to let you go because of your participation in the "are you clean" thread. It has come to our attention here at HR that you do not follow our employees must wash hands after leaving the restroom policy. Enjoy the rest of your day.
