Honestly, new ones really aren't much better. You really have to take your time putting the bumper back on to get it semi aligned.

As an update compared to yesterday, the tune has settled in a little further and I had a ~65 mile round trip today. Was able to achieve an average of 32mpg with mostly highway. The nice thing is that with this kit, it takes a lot less throttle to maintain speed, pass, etc, which I believe is what is contributing to my fuel economy so far. Extremely impressed with how this kit is able to balance both fuel economy and power.

At partial throttle, ALL the kits perform similarly. The differences only show at WOT.

My mistake, what I meant was that you can make peak power with the innovate early on, but you won't ever get the most out of the other kits unless you take it to the top at WOT.

The more I read about adding power to the FR-S, the more appealing this Kraftwerks SC Kit becomes! It's going to be a while, but when I do go with a power upgrade, I think this kit will be it!

A few VERY noob'ish questions for any kind soul willing to impart some much appreciated knowledge please...

  1. I bought my FR-S with the TRD Exhaust and TRD Cold Air Intake. Do I continue to use the TRD gear with this kit?...Does the kit come with its' own CAI instead?
  2. I've also got a Crawford Air-Oil Separator coming. I've read that catch-cans are just about mandatory for SC/Turbos? Is this true? Is the AOS good enough?
  3. I live in NJ, with having to have rear and front license plates being the law...Doesn't the front license plate interfere with the air-intake for the oil cooler? Would I need to get a license plate re-positioning kit?
  4. Am I reading some of the dyno results properly, in that you'll actually LOSE torque/hp at the lower RPMs with this kit vs. stock?
Thanks!

1. You can reuse exhaust, but not intake. The kit comes with it's own.

2. They're more necessary from what I can tell for FI situations, if it buttons up, keep it

3. I don't think it would, but if you're worried just relocate. I'm in CA where front plates are the law and I have never run one or Gotten pulled over for it.

4. I haven't seen the charts you mention, but that kinda seems like nonsense to me.

You must be either looking at older dyno charts (early tests) or not ours. I know for a fact our most recent tunes make more power across the board over the stock dyno charts.

We will be working on Zach's Kraftwerks kit this weekend. We should have some great results by the end of the weekend on both 91 octane and E85.

Cheers,
William Knose

I've been running the prototypes for about a month now. They quite things down considerably. It's an easy swap which only requires you to loosen the belt and I've found it easier to take off the oil filter as well to make getting the pulley off and back on super easy.

Are they expected to be a free upgrade for those that already have the kit?

If anything we will have a definitive answer for that on Saturday. Personally, I'm not expecting the need to upgrade injectors, even on E85. Time will tell, in this case three days
