I just received my ST coilovers this week and mine were also boxed terribly. Every spring had some kind of ding in the yellow coating. Very frustrating. Thankfully the shocks look fine, but still.

How long did it take to get new springs sent and did you have to return the messed up springs before they sent you new ones?

I think mine were a bit messy when I opened them but that's because they went from CA to the Midwest back to me in CA (to avoid CA sales tax through my vendor). Might've had some dings but I didn't take special notice since pebbles will ding at them anyway. Can you count how many threads are exposed starting from bottom of the shocks up to the bottom of the adjustment collars?

The collars on the front struts were 2 or 3 threads from the bottom. The rear struts were both completely different. One was right in the middle of the threads and the other was near the bottom.

Unfortunately, I already moved the collars all the way down and installed my top hats so I don't remember exactly where they were when I unboxed them.

You should be able to find some in the $750-$800 price range. I know some forum members paid between that price (group buys, online sale etc.)

From a sheer performance standpoint, how do the ST's compare with the stock suspension? Is it significantly better or about the same?

My personal opinion:

Better than stock and the ride is just a tiny bit stiffer than stock. Worth every penny...

But for that you can just get springs now like the RCE Yellows and shocks later on after stock wears out a bit.

True, but I like the adjustability factor of having coilovers and being able to get really low to the ground. In addition, I won't have to worry about rim-to-suspension clearance.

To each their own I guess

+1 for enabling a wider selection of wheel/tire sizes. Also costs less than the spring/strut combo I would've went with (Eibachs+Bilsteins) and will cost less in the long term with its 5 year warranty.

I was just about to ask how are these holding up in east coast conditions, Im worried about rusting issues with all this snow and road salts being used.
