agreed, its going to be pretty damn loud. Not sure if you've heard @Bonks car, but it'll be along those lines.

I have no cats on mine and the UEL was definitely slightly louder, even Jack noticed this morning.
You want a resonated mid pipe if you remove the cats. Otherwise you want to invest in ear plugs or Advil.

Ok I'm almost 100% sold on the catted UEL, just need the back side. Thoughts on Perrin vs GReddy vs anything else? Should I start with a axle back, or will a full catback produce the deep burble I want?

Why would you want a catted UEL? You'll be fine as long as you have a cat in your front pipe. To avoid the CEL, you're going to need a full cat, not just an HFC, unless you disable the secondary 02 sensor through tuning software.

So, just get an uncatted header and save money while having more potential gains.

HFC in the front pipe will be enough to keep your exhaust cleaner (keep your tips from getting filthy dirty as quickly when running pump gas), and add some noise/rasp control in addition to your resonators.

Stock midpipe is already resonated. That's why Nameless isn't offering a 2.5" midpipe in their 2.5" exhaust system. They've said that they've found the stock midpipe to be perfectly sufficient in the 2.5" system. They only offer a 3" midpipe for those who want a full 3" exhaust.

The Speedfactory catted UEL shows that it prevents CEL on their website. Is it a full cat, or HFC?

I wanted to make my own without the extra cat but yes they are catted and resonated factory. I still have mine here.
Interesting what nameless has found.

Well, front pipe is catted. Midpipe is resonated. When adding aftermarket headers, you'll probably want a hemholz or inline resonator added to the midpipe to decrease the noise, as well as the HFC. I suppose an HFC in the header could help there as well, but I wonder at how much that would also hinder performance gains.

If it's a full cat, then there's no point in going with it. A full cat is a massive airflow restrictor.

Funny thing with the HFCs. They can sometimes prevent the CEL, but aren't gauranteed to do so, b/c they don't scrub the exhaust as well as a full cat, and could still trigger the secondary 02 sensor into thinking that the cat is malfunctioning.

If it's a restriction to airflow, that doesn't bother me. I'm concerned with the sound.

I have the evo3 and will probably be at the pavs tonight if you want to hear it. Its not overly loud if you leave the silencers in.

I appreciate the offer, but I have Saturday night hockey. I don't think I'll ever be able to make it to the Pavs. Do you have anything else done, headers on back?
