Does anyone happen to have any extra Dynamat or other decent sound deadener they are willing to sell at a good price? I plan on adding some bass and don't want my trunk rattling whenever it hits.

Whats weird is I didn't consider the Agency Power to be an EL but at this point I think its close enough to warrant trying the OFT's EL tune on it when it goes back on.... Its strange that it sounds so different. Either way though even if the Agency Power makes a little more I am not letting go of the UEL sound. This is exactly what I was missing from my exhaust note.

How are you going to aim the sub?

If firing to the side or towards the front, you probably don't need dynamat to prevent trunk rattle. If rear firing (like in jeff's car), you do.

Gladly...

Autocross is happening!

When: This Sunday, Feb. 9th 8:00AM

Where: [ame="https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Arizona+Motorsports+Park&ll=33.515208,-112.39048&spn=0.01662,0.033023&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&fb=1&gl=us&hq=arizona+motorsports+park&cid=11413 299292025447387&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A"]Arizona Motorsports Park [/ame]15402 W Camelback Rd

What?!

Autocross is a timed competition of driving skill. Here's an example video:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_XAcvwKPgk"]GOPR3780 - YouTube[/ame]

Autocross is very easy to get started with as a newbie, all you need is a car to drive. The club will even provide loaner helmets if you need one. Autocross is also challenging to compete in, one of those "easy to learn, difficult to master" things. It involves driving a course marked out in cones in the shortest time possible. Courses are generally designed to challenge the handling ability of the car (and the driver!) and not the straightline speed; it's typical to never be going straight in an autocross for more than a second or two. There are many different car and driver classifications, so don't feel like you'll be outgunned going up against a heavily-modified, purpose-built car.

You can register for any Arizona events (including Tucson and Sierra Vista) here: http://www.mindthecones.com/

Registration for Sunday's event is open until Friday at 6PM
Onsite registration should be available if you miss it. However, is it cheaper to pre-register online (pre-payment not required).

Information on classing:
A FRS/BRZ with no mods, or just cosmetic mods will be in the C-Street class. The following mods are also allowed in C-Street:
  • Brake pad change
  • Fluids changed
  • Any wheels that are stock size
  • Any tires
  • Shock absorbers changed (springs must be stock)
Extra mods will generally put a car in the STX class. Some examples of mods allowed in STX are:
  • Lowering springs
  • Wheels up to 9" wide
  • Coilovers
  • Engine tune
  • Intake
  • Full exhaust
  • Strut bar
  • Sway bars
  • Bucket seats
  • Single suspension arm change (LCAs or UCAs)
  • Other stuff...
Please PM me if you have any questions regarding mods. They're also listed in the SOLO Rules handbook, but it's not exactly light reading.

That being said, autocross is not about the mods! It's about the driver! Developing good driving skill will get you further than any mods to the car. (And it's a lot cheaper)

So come on out and have a good time with us! The entire autocross club is very novice-friendly. Instructors are also generally available to ride with along and offer some pointers if desired. And folks love to give ride-alongs during afternoon runs to show off. So don't hesitate to approach someone who looks fast and strike up a conversation.

More event info can be found here: http://www.azsolo.com/backup/index.php/events-info/177

@Ninjin, in the registration field where it asks for competition category, what would someone who has never done an autocross event choose? Novice options are 1, 2, or 3. Or does this even matter?

Novice 1 for a stock (C-Street) car.

Novice 3 for modified car (STX)

Alright guys I am looking at dyno times for the FRS Header trial and thought I would extend the offer for others to come out since it is by the hour rentals and obviously I cannot be on the Dyno all the time as I have to swap headers a few times so anyone else want in?

I am going to bring the Vette out as well even though everyone says Tucson is not the best place to dyno but oh well lol.

I get the feeling Captain Jack may want to join us but beyond what about anyone else?
