Debaging?
Have read the threads and wondering is JUST taking the badge off that much of a pain. I ask because I was thinking of doing a black out badge.

I asked in another thread but since this one got bumped, I may as well ask in here. Does the front bumper emblem get removed just like the rear? I just ordered some emblems and all the DIY's I see are of the rear one only.

If you just wanted to completely take off the badges and leave it all blank, does that look tacky? Are holes exposed so it looks scrubby?

I ended up using a small pair of scissors and microfiber cloth to break the neck of the pin. I'd say you would have to fill in the holes. It's not bad when you're looking at it from far away, but once you get close, you probably won't like it. Last edited by BaeK; 02-05-2014 at 06:02 PM. |

Thats the exact same thing I said to my self. After a while I realized I would rather have the scion emblem than a chrome uterus. |

Sorry, you are utterly misinformed. • The gen1 xB was the Toyota bB in Japan long before it made to the US; it was exported to the USDM not "an original design by Toyota for the Scion brand". This iteration continues today in the JDM as the bB, although the gen2 xB in USDM isn't even made by Toyota and universally lauded as a swing-and-a-miss. • The xA (no longer manufactured) and the xD are both the Toyota Ist; JDM vehicles exported to the USDM not "an original design by Toyota for Scion brand". • The tC is a bit more complicated. It was a Celica replacement, but it isn't unique. It extensively platform shares with the existing Toyota Avensis, which predates it. So, not exactly "an original design by Toyota for Scion brand" though not a wholly original JDM Toyota. • I am assuming by "other small piece of shit" you are referencing the iQ, which is the only other vehicle in the lineup. This vehicle was never designed with USDM in mind, and in fact the only substantive change between the JDM market and the USDM import is the badge... and the fact other markets get a manual transmission. So, in fact, the iQ is the antithesis of "an original design by Toyota for Scion brand". Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

/shrug It shouldn't be too hard if you want to glue it back on. I ended up breaking off the tabs on the front one somehow but that's fine you could always use new sticky crap to get it back on

Not the hood, but the bumper. If I remember correctly, the badge location is part of the plastic bumper and when I used excessive force to yank it out, the plastic underneath the badge moved as well. That's when I decided to use a pair of scissors and microfiber cloth to break the necks.

Left the scion emblems, I know what it is and if someone really wants to pester me I can swing whichever way I want. I can prove to them that it is in fact a Subaru, or I can prove that it's a Toyota, or I can prove that it's a Scion. Its like picking which of your two newborn identical twins you like better...
But I did remove the FR-S badge, and the dealership stickers. Makes the rear look clean and uniform. |
