The Celica was simply rebranded as a Scion in my opinion and the name changed to tC (touring coupe). The tC was given the 2.4L Camry engine with VVTi. Not the bad ass 1.8L VVTi-L engine from the Celica GT-S.

P.S.

For those that didn't know...the 1.8L engine from the Celica GT-S was used in the Lotus Elise R and Lotus Elise SC (supercharged edition). The Elise reminds of what a modern MR2 would look like. Toyota is everywhere. You can't get away from it so just accept it. lol. Check this out:

Long live the MKIV Supra!

Back to the topic of discussion, haha!
The 2zz was also in the matrix and corolla tuned down to 180 hp in 03 and lowered every year after due to emisions and de-tuning

I think some of you clowns would rebadge an LFA because it's a Toyota.

I agree. I like the brand being a niche, and not what everyone else in the world has.

My title says Toyota...and that is enough for me.

This is how it went for me:
Step 1) Paint scion emblem.
Step 2) Paint won't stick to emblem. Repeat steps 1 & 2
Step 3) Modify emblem
Step 4) Hate modification
Step 5) Didn't want to buy new scion emblems, so bought Toyota emblems

Seem to match the car a little better anyways.

Did not know that. Very cool. Wish they would have stuck with that when they started making the tC. Then have that motor retuned with a turbo or SC.

I haven't debadged, but if I did ..... Toy GT86 all the way. Scion has no history. No racing heritage. Nada. The car should have been a GT86 from day 1.

I have Subaru and Toyota under my hood, and Scion all over the exterior. If I could narrow it down to 2 badges it would be great. I will switch it to Toyota badges so I don't have to explain to people that it's half Toyota half Subaru and sold under Scion.....I just confused myself thinking about it.

I can use the money for other things. People still don't know what this car is. All they know that it looks fast. People just break their necks and always say it look great. And all I know is that it mine. I love my car.
