I drive in traffic each day 18 miles one way and i drive mostly in the city area. Would you guys hate me for getting an automatic? I'm expecting to abuse the pedal shifters and I don't actually know how to drive a manual. Reactions?
I'd consider a Corolla or maybe even a Prius.

I live on long Island so we have a lot of stop and go traffic.(an hour worth minimum each way)
My mother at the age of 55 was shifting as if it was nothing. No stress, it was all muscle memory.

So my theory, if she can do it so can I.
Are you gonna go autox and track? Are you very patient? If so I'd say go stick. Otherwise auto is fine, but there's a chance (key word) you might get bored.

Hi guys,

Just got word from my dealership that my future car is on the boat and arriving at mid FEB, whiteout 6MT . He also broke down the number of white MT/6 FRS in the NYC Boro and he said there will only be 5 available of White and 6MT. But I will be getting one

How long do you guys think this Monogram will remain available? I have a hint we still might see RS models and hoping they will still be available next year.

Why do you even care what we think? Are we going to be driving the car for you?

It's your money, so drive whatever you feel you'll be comfortable with.

I was in the same situation, I just learned to drive stick Friday myself and honestly it wasn't all that great. I mean your just moving a stick around and pressing another pedal. I am getting a manual because of the stuff you can do in a manual. And my friends have manuals and they are fine in traffic and hills. Its really a non issue for younger people.

Honestly I don't know why someone would get this car without a manual. If you aren't going to mod this car then there are much better options in this price range. This car doesn't do anything special besides lay a foundation for a great build, IMO of course.

it seems like a one time release since they only offer 2000, but again they did it with the 10 series. but the only reason why 10 series doesn't sell well is cause is only silver color =.=

Alright, here is the shindig. Scion comes out with a special edition limited run of certain cars every year. The Scion Tc has got one every year for a while now and I'm willing to say the FR-S will get one every year aswell.

The first Special Edition FR-S was the 10 Series and they made 2,500 of them and only 2,500. This Monogram is the second year of Special editions and they only made 2,000 this time because the 10 Series flopped (There are still 2 sitting at my local Dealership and 4 Monograms have already been ordered by customers).

So yes its a one time deal and they will be on the lots until 2,000 people buy them up. Which I'm anticipating won't be long because you can buy it in any color instead of being limited to that stupid Silver as with the 10 Series (Sorry 10 owners).

There will be another Series in 2015 most likely and it might come in a new color, whippty frickin doo. But it will come with mostly the same stuff, maybe a Cat-Back with a 2Hp bump idk. Savvy?

Hold up. I'mma let you finish, but why would ANYONE buy an FR-S? It's a Scion fer crissakes! And a manual? Who buys THAT anymore? Only people too poor to afford an automatic, me thinks.

Realizing most of your posts are jokes, I won't take you very serious. And since you drive a BRZ I will take it you know its not a scion in anything but the badge. But IMO the FR-S/BRZ is purposely left unfinished by Toyobaru because they knew people would mod them. They didn't bother putting in power or ehaust because people were going to mess with those areas even if they did put it in. So they cut their cost and let the owner do it. And the chief engineer said the Manual could take more power so that+mods = Get the stick shift obviously.

Which a lot of people seem to be doing because they stopped the automatic option in the BRZ premium.

Well, I didn't buy a Series 10 because I didn't want another grey car, but given the limited availability of Monograms in my region, ima gonna get back to banging my head on the wall.

I for sure ain't waiting until 2015 for my distributor to screw up (again) and try to make a special special special edition like they are doing with the Monogram. Especially if the 2015 will come out in Yellow only with a TRD exhaust and body kit as the only option.
