Yeah... I haven't heard from him since earlier in the year and the time before that would have been Nov/Dec... whenever I was at the dealer placing the pre-order.

all good though.

with any brand new model, it is common where no discount is available for the initial few months. that's how this industry operates. if you want discount, please wait.
Of course the kid on the street...

FWIW your right about no discount on first release.. I remember my old lady bought an NC roadster when they first came out. Best they could manage was $1000 off RRP, this was after walking out and all.

I was never going for top spec, the extra options fitted are of absolutely no interest to me, well maybe the push start button but even then it would be for shits and giggles and maybe that sat nav type thing or what ever the hell it is, but i can and will live without it.

I wouldn't be caught dead in a shopping trolley looking car.

Go before show i say.

I'm the other way around with the High spec. I want HIDs and daytime lights, the leather and alcantara seats and the white digital display. Couldn't care less or even want to pay for satnav and heated seats. That shit's retarded.

i would be happy with one that has no stereo or satnav, as long as it has speakers or at least holes for them, as all my entertainment and navigation has allways been done from my phone

The way I see it, the 86 is a sports car, not a luxury car. There for I have no want for leather/suede, satnav, push button start, or any of that. I have said all of that before though.
Just want decent stereo (i will probably upgrade speakers anyway), electric windows and mirrors, remote locking and leather steering wheel/gearknob. All of which will be standard. Maybe not the geaarknob, but everything else

I want HID and keyless start, leather steering wheel and gear knob and white dial.

I don't care about sat nav, leather, 17s and rear spoiler. I really wish BRZ is offered with a spec in between the 86 specs.

Realistically, I will be happy with the base base. Everything else I want I will add from Japan genuine. Leather wheel (if base isn't) HID's (will get the proper housings and washers) none of it will be as much as what Toyota aus will charge those are the only things I would be interested in realistically. No leather seats (heavier and never as contoured and supportive) and alcantra can stain fairly easily. And if leather is perforated forget about it lol

Well since its raining here and i cant work on my deck i might visit my local dealer again, and id dare say i would get the same response as last time.

But once this car is released i cant wait to go haggle the hell outta these sellers just too hear their answers, this will be a laugh.

I wish for the rc version but it isnt to be i guess ill have to roll with the standard one and mod it myself over time as per the creators intentions.

The main thing I want from the High spec are the headlights. Do you have an idea on how much they would cost? From either Toyota Aust. or direct from Japan. Would it also be easy and cost effective to replace the dials? As I want the digital and white display.

Overall it looks like I'm going to be rockin' the standard spec.

i don't want the standard spec. it's either high spec 86 or BRZ for me. but i don't need the sat nav and leather/suede so if BRZ doesn't have those and cheaper i'd cancel my pre-order and buy a BRZ.

Yeah, HID's are the only thing that interests me in the high spec model.
To order the headlights, the washers, the different harness, etc from Toyota Aust would cost a motza I would imagine.. Not to mention the bulbs, if they aren’t included in the lights..
Getting the set up from Japan would probably be cheaper IF you already know someone over there.
