Thanks for the PDF MrFranky!

As soon as i saw page 13 I was depressed for a while

Core Target

Male 35-49 (, you serious? only in my 20s)

White Collar (yes, why does it matter?)

Style Conscious (Yes it looks good)

Household income (HHI) = $150k (if I had this much, I would probably be looking at something else)

I thought Mr Toyoda said it's targeted to young enthusiast?

Got a feeling Toyota Australia was like "oh look! its a flashy Toyota Sports car, only someone that is a high roller could afford this!"

something tells me its gonna be 40ish to 50k, just by judging from HHI...

That was my response as well. This was my response on Toyota's FB:

Quote:
[Random fella] you are absolutely right. The scary thing is though, and I have this on good authority, Toyota are marketing this car to people aged 35-49 with a household income of $150k. To me that sounds like they have no idea about what this car is about. It's meant to be a cheap sports car that is aimed at young drivers, so they can enjoy driving. This is the case in Japan, the UK and in the US. In the US, it will be a Scion, which if you are unaware, is Toyota, but targeted at young people, that's why their range consists of small cars only. The thing is, people in the age group of 35-49, with that money, are not going to be interested in a Toyota. Instead they would be looking at Euro cars, and maybe even Lexus. It is looking more and more like they are going to crush my dreams of owning this car. Being a 22 year old, this car has everything I am looking for, though to Toyota, my money isn't good enough. One final note, as [random fella] said, I too am on several car forums and the people I talk to are around my age, 20-30, so how many people are you going to alienate before you realise that you have missed the point of this car?
Quote:
Oh by the way, there is no way Toyota can price this car more than a Camry. It has a 6 cyl engine, auto gearbox, lots of features and is a lot bigger. Whereas the 86 has a 4 cyl engine, a manual gearbox and that's it. So overall there is two choices, shoot yourself in the foot, which means I buy an S2000, or make this car brilliant, and I enjoy giving you my business.
