Fun cars for under 10k...

Depends on what is fun for you...

Straight-line speed...
*Ford Mustang GT
*Chevrolet Camaro

Handling...
*Miata
*MR2
*Maybe an S2000...but one under 10k can very well have lotsa Gremlins

If you just wanna Hoon around in something fun...
*S10
*Nissan Hardbody truck...
essentially any compact truck can be a BLAST to get sideways and stuff...plus they are cheap to buy and insure

If you know mechanically inclined people...
*Second generation RX-7...

You talking Miata or MX5? Just a little bit bigger, still tight for me.

Now who ever made up the list with S2000 at number 1, for sure Midget Mode there. That list is open to interpretation.

** Buick Grandnational

I'm telling y'all Ford owners were putting Turbos on their 5.0s to keep them competitive down the quarter mile against the Buicks that were only 3.8L.

The Untouched Grandnationals tend to go for much more, but if its been raced up they tend to be cheaper.
Sadly they are starting to turn into collector cars due to their age and the people who know exactly what these cars are all about.

I'm just trying to highlight a car that some of us may never have had on their radar.
Many of us here are too young to even know what the Buick is just based on Bow Tye and Ford Biases.

Super Charged first gen and Turbo Charged second gen, extremely rare for both cars. Each time I see the cars I look for the right engine hoods that declare forced induction.

first gen miatas have the most room out of all of them imo

the s/c aw11 is not as good at being a sports car as the n/a versions. they came late in the life cycle so they are heavy. plus they are geared much longer so the speeds arent that far off but youre stuck with the couple extra hundred pounds. personally i would rather have the spyder over the other gens as they are the closest to the conventional sports car definition.

Completely agree. Having said that I do love 88/89 MR2SCs but they are more of a GT than a sports car. Same can be said for the 2nd gen Turbos, especially in the later years though.

As for the car, I'd second the earlier E36 M3. Just buy a good one.

Great DD. I never drive the BRZ anymore. It's kinda pointless to own for me now so I'm seriously considering selling it

Yeah the Buick GNX are awesome. A buddy in High School had a Z28, his dad had a GNX. The GNX would blow the doors off of the Z28 (this was in 1997ish).

They are just hard to find...period. Especially unmolested and under 10k.

Its like the Syclones and Typhoons. Awesome trucks...just hard to find because they are legitimately rare.
