Cars under $10000

What are some awesome cars that are fun to drive under $10000 that will be really cheap. I want a sporty car that will be reliable. Any thoughts?

Used Miata?

Oh my god, there's so many topics on it. Just go back five pages and you'll find at least ten...

Reliability for a car under 10K (Or any used cars with mucho miles...) depends on the previous owners, I've seen people buy Miatas for cheap and have tons of problems.

Anything built in Britain, Italy or Japan before 1975.

I'm actually being serious. :-)

But if you want something that will do zero-to-sixty in less than twenty seconds and has airbags these are my tops:

A secondhand Mazda MX-5.
A secondhand Honda S2000.
A secondhand Toyota MR2.
A secondhand VW Corrado.
A secondhand BMW E30.

For me, the condition of the car is every bit as important as the model, maybe more so. I HATE dealing with rust or somebody else's crappy modifications. I want stock condition, no rust and low miles. :-)

I think it would be easier if you looked what cars are available around your area because it's much harder finding cars that you want in good condition.

If you're a midget!

Look into 84 to 87 Buick Grand Nationals and T-Types. You can find some decent examples for under $10K. That's if you don't mind the big ole vato/gangster look of the 80's.

That was my first car when I turned 18.
2004 silver automatic with black leather seats.
I did a lot of 'first time' things in that car
I miss her.

at 6'2" i fit fine. especially after a foamectomy or even a racing seat. i dont know if i would assume a 10k s2k would be reliable. i did manage to get a completely track prepped miata for under 9k just about a week ago though. its tons of fun, super bulletproof and its more than likely faster than my stock brz

My top five choices would be:

1) S2000
2) 350z
3) E36 M3
4) Miata
5) WRX
