Haha definitely thought it was just a dyno vid

Hopefully some Perrin CBE peeps put some videos out though, would love to hear some rumble with that combo

Or even more preferably (but probably not possible) resonated Perrin Catback? Just bought one of these from you guys would love to match with your UEL!
Once mine comes in will have full Perrin CAI and resonated exhaust with cats headers back with this installed. It already sounds amazing and can't wait for the header to factor in.

Does the ECU try to correct the Torque Dip that the UEL Catted Header fills? Or does it work well like the guys always tell us, install and have fun + more Power/Torque?

Thanks, Jan

You're assuming the torque dip is something the ECU would strive to achieve... As far as I understand it's simply a limitation of the engine/exhaust configuration, not a desired result.

So the new FT86 Header will not 'lose' it's function of filling the torque dip, because the ECU tries to work against it?

The ECU will lern and say, "yeah I've got more torque and power to deliver at that rpm, let's do it!"?

Right now, I have a Perrin over pipe, Invidia catless front pipe, and Invidia ss catback...waiting on my FT86 catted uel header to come in. Should be loud. ...Hopefully not too loud or raspy, if so I'll be getting an Invidia catted front pipe.

The ecu does have a load limiter at lower RPM values.

Respecfully at:
RPM ENGINE LOAD
800 0.880
1000 0.900
1200 0.890
2000 0.919
2200 0.919
2400 1.070
2500 1.109
3000 1.099
3200 1.299

If your vehicle pushes over these load limits it will us methods to limit timing, and iirc fueling. However the torque dip starts right after this point. A large difference in the torque dip is made by tuning the cams in the car. Most headers let you tune the cams further and gain some additional power in that region.

Woah... FT86 SpeedFactory released a header and it didn't take them a year to produce a dyno sheet? Sorry but we know that good headers take time.

So if the load will not be over these numbers the header will produce more power that stock!?

I just want to make sure, that I don't have to flash or modify the ECU after installing the ft86 UEL Catted header!

I have no idea how much gain you will get from a catted header without a tune. Test it and find out for us! Headers can increase flow, and also lower egt allowing a more aggressive tune. So if you are not getting a massive increase in flow and mostly a lower egt then the gains would be minimal. Considering that the cat is a high flow cat... i would assume some flow change will occur giving some gains.

I will do for sure!!!

But the guys said it will be no tune necessary, so header install and the torque dip is gone.

We'll see in march
