Yeah a tubro is one of the worlds most awesome mufflers. They are just so expensive

I don't believe a different tune is necessary. Any power gain is probably more a function of your ear dyno rather than your butt dyno. However, my axle back muffler along with my K&N drop in air filter, gives me a perceived (at least), modest power increase....... ![]() [ame]http://youtu.be/WX0XJIJQ4xs[/ame] Last edited by humfrz; 01-28-2014 at 07:20 PM. |

I went with one because I won't be doing any engine/exhaust mods for the next year and it was a cheap option for a good sound, good look, and weight reduction. |

Alright. I've decided to go with the Nameless axleback 2.5'' exhaust with a 5" muffler.
If it worth it to get the Nameless exhaust brushes(the rings that hold the exhaust pipes in place). And if so, should I just buy 2? Edit: Also wondering about jack sands that can withstand the weight of the BRZ fully off the ground. Dont want it buckling over when I'm under it. Last edited by carma143; 01-28-2014 at 07:00 PM. |

A simple air intake modification would NOT call for a larger exhaust. The stock rubber hangers work just fine for non race situations. No need to replace them. It's not necessary to jack the car up to replace the axle back muffler, although it would make it a bit easier. OR, you can do it the "humfrz" way. Toss the muffler in the trunk, drive up to the muffler/auto shop, have a cup of coffee and they will have it on before you finish your first cup of coffee. Pay them about $30 and you don't get your knuckles skinned up, your back sore, your elbow twisted, stuff in your eye, WD-40 all over your hands, ...... and you will have time for a nap .....

However, having said that, I don't trust any jacks or jack stands .... completely. I always back them up with a cement block and pieces of 4"x4" .....

I'm the kind of guy that likes to do everything manually.
Glad you cleared my confusion about the 2.5" |

Spray the two nuts with something like WD-40 and let it set for a few minutes. Spray the rubber hangars with soapy water. After you have removed the two bolts, "swing" the old muffler on the rubber hangars to work the soapy water under them. Be careful with getting the gasket off the old muffler/mid pipe, because you won't be supplied with a new one. There ya go ....... sports car sound ..... and the tips are perty .....

I've got the nameless track pipe. I really don't think it's that loud at all. I also have the nameless frontpipe w/ resonator that is going in this weekend and plan to order a header pretty soon. I imagine it will get pretty loud but I shall see.

one more thing. Will installing an aftermarket exhaust or header in the future affect any warranties?

Typically speaking auto manufactures don't like people modifying emission equipment. You should be fine with a cat back but replacing anything from the front pipe forward may be an issue.
