comes from OEMaudio+ as a painted option, and whoever they use to paint these gets the color right, its a great match.

How's the 8 inch sub sound? I am tossing around doing an 8 inch or 10 inch sub in my car and I just don't know if a 8 inch would be enough kick. I am not looking to be blowing the doors off or blasting my music just want a nice clean base.

8inch sub sounds great! I think the size is just right for our cars.

what size box did you use for an 8" sub? I had an 8" sub that had like .5 cubic feet of box (OEM..) and it sounded AWFUL. Went up to a 12 with tons of space, and got a way better sound. Thinking about an 8" for the FR-S...

I have the OEMaudio plus box, it is streamlined to save space. so I don't think there is that large of a gap in-between the magnet and the box. I can definitely see how a larger gap there would create a deeper sound.

I asked them this, they use the exact paint (order it from Subaru or Scion etc). I must say the Satin White Pearl / Whiteout looks amazing. In my opinion the color matched is well worth it and very beautiful. I mentioned on another thread before but I will again you should consider having a clear bra place wrap it so you don't have to worry about scratches from things in the trunk. It was under $100 for me to do that.... and once I saw it I knew I wanted to keep it pretty and scratch free!

great idea, I don't know why that didn't cross my mind, I have not been putting certain items in the trunk for fear of that type of damage to the sub box, getting clear bra asap now

Just so you know deadening my doors SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the cricket sounds. I did CCF+MLV on my trunk and rear quarter panels and it helped but the doors IMO did the most.

It will. For the trunk lid you don't need to have 100% coverage. All it takes is a couple of pieces. That's what my installer did and at reasonable volumes you can barely hear the sub outside the car and it doesn't rattle. I also put a small piece of foam on the back of the license plate.
