I was hearing crickets..until I did this..

I have just hit 6,800 miles, and I have heard crickets since about 1,800 miles. Crickets aside, I have always wanted to have a dynamated car with a good stereo system, and I have to give a big thanks to @oemaudioplus I recieved my reference 400+ system as part of the recent group buy with super fast shipping and great service. Finally got around to getting the dynamat and system installed this saturday.

Before:

After:

For now I have just put the dynamat in the trunk area, when I took the pic I had a few touch up spots left, but I was getting too excited to hear the OEMaudio+ that I left the rest of interior for a later time.

Finished product:

Took a nice long drive today and couldn't hear my crickets at all, I had nothing but the sound of sweet tunes.

I purchased the dynamat superlite bulk pack it has 48 square feet, in the trunk area I used about 20 square feet. the shipping weight of the dynamat box was 17lbs, and there was probably 1lb worth of packing materials, so I am thinking installing the entire 48 square feet would add roughly 15-16lbs total weight. I have not noticed any weight increased, however I have noticed tremendous difference in road/exhaust noise. I can't wait to do the rest of the interior.

Looks good. Have you done anything with the rest of the system?

I really want to add more deadener in my doors. Some frequencies still resonate. Seeing other's deadener installations motivates me to tear the doors apart again...

I've been toying with doing this for a while. I'd probably start with the trunk, but I don't know if the subaru cover will still fit on the inside.

For now just the oemaudio plus reference 400+ add on to the existing stock 2014 head unit. but I must say adding the new rear sub, door subs and amps has made the stock unit sound so amazing!

I hope the subaru cover fits because thats what I plan to get before I dynamat underneath the trunk deck lid , I don't think it should be an issue the dynamat superlite is not overly thick. all the stock trunk pieces fit back into the clips no problem and the liners same thing.

it really is great stuff, my first experience with it, did you dynamat to your entire cab? I am planning to do everything under the carpet, and I have been thinking about doing the headliner but still unsure if that will be needed.

I bet it does! Since you don't have any crossover features for the main drivers with the factory head unit, you could experiment with reducing the bass output from the head unit. This will pull some of the low frequencies from the main drivers and help reduce distortion, and then adjust gain on the sub amp to compensate. Just an idea, something to play with if you like tweaking settings.

Nope, I actually just did the trunk + doors. I didn't have quite enough; and that was with 2x door kits.

If you know anyone that works for best buy, they get dynamat for WAY cheaper. I think the door kits are 70-80 bucks and he got them for 30 each

I thought the same thing at first, but after I did a google shopping search found this:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...ack-10648.html

only $168 with free shipping. doing the install yourself saves money too

I suggest getting a roller if you don't have one already makes the job go a lot faster.

There are some cheaper alternatives. Im on my phone so my links arent handy, but a quick google will yield the off brand ways of deadening.
