Yea... it's pretty obvious the street classes were cut off at the knees for the inaugural year, which is understandable since going too soft would upset the apple cart for the established classes. I expect we'll still be hurting for the next few years until there's enough data to adjust them more appropriately. In the meantime, placement amongst the other street classes and delta % to the top indexers will just have to be the gauge.

Plenty of national level drivers down here (19 of the top 20 were at nats last year, and four are national champions), so course designs are as homogenous to national courses as we can fit into the sites. The event this weekend was more of a road course with only a couple slalom/transition sections and a tight hairpin. Speed range was 24-56 in my car. The car was constantly fighting for rear grip on throttle.

I put a 20 mm front bar on and found the difference quite noticeable. MUCH better turn in. That and the rivals. Keep in mind I am not the preverbal expert. Or speller. I could over power the car. Reference not an expert. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Here is why I am saying this:
CS: .821 1.58% slower than R-comp (Round to 1.6%) CSR: .834 STX: .827 0.846% slower than R-comp (Round to 0.8%) Based on this: they are telling us that the performance difference from street tires to R-comps is twice as great as the performance difference between the rest of the stock/street modifications to the allowances in STX. So basically wider wheels/tires, brakes, diff, exhaust/intake, a tune, fancy coilovers, etc... all of that, only gets you about half the performance gain as a set of R-comps would. I don't think they are giving all those modifications enough credit.

STX is fairly accurate. Its CS that's off. Because Rick Ruth admitted to kneecapping Street, afraid to upset if a street driver did too well (though he never did that any other time a new class was introduced)

Hale's clearly not slow, although sounds like the car still needs to be tweaked with some FSB action. But as stated, the Street PAX is fubared, but no need to keep crying about it. Probably the best way to guestimate where you "should" be and how the car is continuing to progress and how you're adapting to it vs. the Non-CS competion would be to do it the way it was done last year: CSR PAX times a .975 multiplier. Doing that puts the CS PAX at .813 and would have put you in 5th overall, about 0.5 PAX seconds out of first. Feel better now?
![]() Another way I can tell the PAX is messed up: you got beat by Pomrenke and Irish.

That's just wrong - and right. :P I'll use the PAX number to my advantage and just get faster. There is nothing like losing to make you try harder...

Yup, I agree, the point of my argument is the delta between CS and STX should be greater than the delta between STX and CSR.
