Thanks for the input @simpleisbest. You've given me a lot more to think about for my region's season.

Can you take a pic of the sidewall on the 245 Rival? Should be interesting to see how well the tire squeezes into the wheel. The 235 Z2 looks pretty good considering how much wider it is than the wheel.

I'm not surprised that the 245 Rival's fit. One of my friends accidentally mounted 255/40/17 rivals on 17x7" OZ wheels thinking they were wider wheels on his BRZ. Ran them for a few events until he purchased wider wheels.

245/40 looks about the same as far as the tire "bubbling".

I considered going 255, but wasn't sure if there would be enough clearance between the spring perch under load.

Superleggera is only available used. But one can still find RS-05 new, but those are a couple of lbs heavier.

Our season started yesterday down here, and I got my first taste of the BRZ in CS form. I have 235 Z2's on RPF1's, Koni's, bolts, catback, air filter, and 1100 miles on the odometer

The car performed pretty well, pretty easy to keep on the limits, but quite a bit of throttle oversteer. Time to order a front swaybar. I had the front shocks at full stiff and the rears at full soft. I do not think that the Koni's have enough bump for this car, but I'll give 'em a few more events.

I'm typically chasing the top PAX spot in my old STU STI or in most competitive cars that I codrive, but not so much yesterday. I finished 20th out of 165 in my open runs and 13th in my double entry runs.
Results: https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/file...an2014_pax.htm

I know the CS PAX is tough, but I needed another second to get it done. Ouch!

It was definitely a learning curve for me last year driving RWD for the first time in a long time, and I started with A6s. I switched to street tires for the last event and it was a whole nother learning experience.

I have a Strano front bar I would be willing to part with for cheap if you are interested.

We have some events coming up in about a month here, can't wait to get out there. I am planning on starting off in CS again but have a bunch of STX parts to install.

A bigger FSB and seat time will get you there. That looks like a pretty awesome start to me!

I've got some pretty stiff competition down here, so I'm looking at this early lack of pace as an opportunity to excel. I'll claw back some of that time myself and hope to make up the rest with the bar and possibly race valved fronts. I'm trying to convince one of the locals with a 370Z to buy some top street tires and do a back to back comparison, but tires for a 370 are ridiculously expensive.
