It has an "L" shaped cross section, about 1.25" to 1.5" per leg.

You can see in the picture, the Home Depot one is a little bigger, maybe 2" and not a perfect 90 degrees. More like an obtuse L shape, probably 120 degrees between the legs. But it isn't as rigid (it's a soft foam-like rubber vs STI is stiff, dense rubber). If you are trying to see which offers better protection, I would go with STI because it has proven to protect my lip even in dips that are deeper than how high my front lip is. Because as the rubber skirt would rub down into the dip, it would conform to the dip and keep some spacing between the ground and front lip, pushing/bending the front lip up and away from the concrete. The Home Depot lip may be able to do this too, but I have no firsthand experience with it (I never scraped when I had it on).

How to install the STI rubber? It only uses tape or need to drill the hole to the front lip? Thanks. |

[QUOTE=switchlanez;1481185]It comes with 3m tape already attached and plastic pins for you to use after you drill. I didn't drill and just used the tape.
Is the hard rubber material same as STI Rear Wing Gurney Flap? How many plastic pins they include? Where is the drill (or mount spot) the installation guidance suggest? Sorry for so many questions and Thanks again. |

![]() I'm currently debating if I should get a TRD short shifter (the JDM one). It'll make the inputs (w/ TRD steering wheel and TRD shift knob) feel complete but I'm hesitant to pull apart interior pieces and decipher Japanese instructions. >_< I'd rather torque nuts and bolts outside the cabin.

Why TRD and not STI? I was kinda maybe considering the STI one since the price came down a lot. I should be creating a Member's Car Journal thread here shortly as well. I've been trying to get used to my Nikon D5000 with this new 35mm lens while tackling more techniques. It's been frustrating, but hopefully I'll have nice pics to share when the car is ready.I can't wait for your updates! |
