Edit: If you do have cold start issues, I have a copy of Malt's Table changes for IPW, and even an edited A001 tune to match his adjustments if you need.

Ok that's awesome. Yeah I shouldn't have an issue really with cold starts. I'm in south florida. Thanks for that though, really appreciate it. I just filled up my first E85 tank, seems to be driving fine. I'm on the 1.42

I don't know how cold it gets for you, but e90 has been troublesome for people with just 50°.

Its in the 70's here or more but at night its in the 40's. Without any changes made the car takes 2-3 tries to start in the morning.

I played with the cranking tables and upped the fuel at 20c and below by quite a bit. This did not lead to smooth starting. I then raised the idle target when cranking to 2krpm. This helped a lot. 2nd crank every time instead of usually third. Also, this evening in ~50 degree weather, it started on the first try. I was amazed. We'll see how it is tomorrow morning. I will keep playing with the tables and see how it goes. At the least, I suggest you raise your target idle on the tables to 2krpm when at low temps.

I am running e85 propel, which seems to be, at least so far, much richer on the ethanol than the gas.

By doubling, yes doubling, the stock fuel table, I have a rough but successful start on a first turn of the key on a 50F morning if I push the accelerator down. This is as opposed to no fuel. I also raised the idle target to 2k rpm. Still need to tweak.

The fact that you're getting a better response when you are pressing the accelerator down means that you are overfueling on cranking now. There is a table that will progressively cut cranking pulse width the further the accelerator is pressed down.

Didn't a member post his table up which have resolved almost everyone's cold start issues? Why wouldn't you try those instead?
My car starts on the first pull every time now, I have just been tweaking it trying to get the cold start idle under 1300rpm but its taking a little more work. Its close though.

I'll be going back to running e85 on our test car night. Could you point me to these settings? I'll give them a try and update the OTS maps according

Cheers

Thank you for that. Anyone else want to post up cold start cranking settings that are working from them when the OTS settings were giving them hard starts in the morning. I'll test the settings in our CA not-so-cold morning here before implementing them in the new revision of OTS maps.

Thanks SHIV for addressing this, maybe you can run a tank of Propel Fuel too, seems to be what everyone is having problems with. Also hopefully these updates will be available for the older Roms... mine is 700C...

Running E85 and getting starts 100% in about 22degF weather, BUT I am getting about 30s of minor stumbling and a noise that sounds a little bit like a short grind.

Anyone have any ideas?
