Are there specific instructions for removing the Ecutek Rom(Tune) and returning to Stock Rom(Tune)?

Are you running Windows 8? If so, run the Windows 8 patch. If that doesn't work, try loading the user software on another laptop and see if the problem persists. The User Software is pretty robust and stable. Usually when there is an issue, it's often an issue with the laptop OS or comms, not the software itself.

Yes, you will need to contact your previous tuner and ask him to send you a stock ROM. Make sure you tell him that you need to revert your ECU back to stock. Then just flash your ECU with the stock ROM. At that point, the OFT should install just fine

Yes, please try another computer. Also make sure you use a USB 2.0 port and not a USB 3.0 port.

When I enquired with Top Gear Solutions they also said that the OFT's (purchased from them) come "...loaded and ready to go". But as you said, these preloaded OFT's only start shipping out on Monday so I think he may have not known about it.

I'm sure he's not trying to deceive anyone but perhaps just miscommunication?

Glad you got yours sorted out in the end, but I think I'd just have a nervous breakdown if using the OFT the "old" way and encountered similar issues (I'm a retard when it comes to most things IT related).

That's why I need the 3-touch preloaded OFT because it's retard proof

Got Stage 1 tune loaded and did a short log

My car is stock except for HKS Axleback exhaust and perrin intake tube

Stock ROM
http://datazap.me/u/steve99/brz-g-se...log=0&data=1-8

Stage 1 ROM
http://datazap.me/u/steve99/brz-hks-...log=0&data=1-8

Both Stock and Stage 1 ROM's appear to have a bit of knock around 2 to 4 thousand RPM low load but the sage 1 ROM appears to have less to my untrained eye

Happy to hear comments

Thanks

Got my OFT today, it didn't come preloaded with maps so im doing it manually.
Your step 3 video shows how install the maps, but now how or where to get them? I dont see "base line maps" anywhere.

Am i supposed to get maps from Off-The-Shelf Maps v1.42?
Upload Data section isnt reading any of those files.

Someone help a noob out

*edit- So I got the maps off v1.42, but they come out as VLC media file (.bin)
What am I doing wrong here??

once the maps are extracted from the zip they are supposed to be .bin files. Shouldn't matter that VLC player wants them for itself just use the OpenFlashManager software to load them to your tablet.
