Thanks for the the suggestion that's what I was looking at! I'm hoping if I keep revs low around town after I'm done with my build it won't be too obnoxious..

I have a full headerback system with Perrin catback and JDL UEL headers and it is pretty quiet when not on it. MOst importantly it does not drone! You will love it!

do you have the perrin 2.5" or 3"? i have the 3" with 3" front pipe and 2"5" over pipe currently and the way you described your exhaust as not loud only when on it is what im striving for. i hate the hwy cruising drone. i want it loud when i step on it though

so far ive made my mind up im going with JDL, holding out because i want to see
EL v2 dynos

I have the 2.5 inch version. And it is just like you described it, quiet when cruising. I will say that accelerating anytime does make a lot of noise I woudl say a 4.5/10 and at full throttle it is a 7 to 8/10. Sounds great!

You may have issues with a 3" system. FR-S Matt ran a 3" system with his UEL headers and he got rid of it. If you have the stock exhaust, I would put that back on if it is too loud. It might help.

What would be better for a supercharged BRZ the UEL or the EL?

My guess would be EL, but I'm sure it's a close comparison.
I went equal for max NA power and personally.. I like the sound much better.

For me it depends on how it ends up.....if it ends up like a small angry Porsche then great. But I'd rather the wrx sound than honda.

I've yet to hear a Honda that was better than tolerable.

I have several local buddies with properly built Integras and they sound amazing!
And this is coming from a former European Ford enthusiast haha ;-)

Even on EL headers these cars will have a slight rumble because the exhaust ports are not identical front to rear. I don't think folks need to worry about it sounding like a crap-can honda rice-maker. I drove a B16 swapped CRX for 12 years and it didn't sound like ass. Dunno why people always assume they all do. Most do/did for sure, but that was more a function of the culture than the technology available, and I heard plenty of other makes sound the same way. Most import tuner cars sound awful because of the people building them, and what they want, regardless of brand. The popularity of modifying hondas is probably what formed this stereo type.

I hope you're talking about an integra that does autoX....

I did hear a newer SI that wasnt terrible. I just haven't heard a good one but lots of terrible ones. Kinda of like neons.

Probably has more to do with the people than the car since VWs tend to sound pretty good.

Yeah.. there's 2 of them. The purple one is a 2.0l supercharged.. 300whp, and the white is 1.8l turbo just shy of 500whp.
Both sound amazing!
