Just an idea. You could get the supra and rebuild everything to make it like new but then again imagine how much all this must cost if you want it done right?

Lol...
Make it like new? A lot of money. A LOT! But you could pick up a reliable TT Auto (maybe a manual if youre lucky) for like 20k, with 100k or so miles. Then spend 5-6k going Single and you have a 500hp street beast that will last you another 100k miles at least. But only if that's what you're into... I'd rather have a BRZ Limited...

or you can spend that money making it into a manual and do suspension/brakes/tires+wheel mods and make it handle quite good.
Stock it has more than enough power, maybe BPU and be done with it. Focus more on making it grip

instead of one or the other, why not get the fr-s ,ofcourse, and instead of the supra do a sc3/400 with a 1jz or 2jz supra swap? then you can have your cake and eat it too.

I think he actually meant putting the 1/2j in the z30..
A 2j would destroy the 86 |

The FR-S\BRZ is the perfect bridge car. There will be a new Mazda RX7, Acura NSX, Nissan Z35, Corvette C7, and Toyota Supra in 3 to 4 years time, if you get bored with the FR-S\BRZ. But also remember by then gas could be $6 to $7 a gallon....and all of those except for the Z, RX7, and Supra are going to be well over $45k...
The hope is that Nissan brings back the Silvia. Honda the Integra and the S2000. Subaru a Coupe version of the WRX\STI (poor mans GTR). And whoever can make a lightweight RWD or AWD coupe for cheap. |

I'm looking very closely at the FR-S as my next car. However, having owned a Supra for 4 trouble free years now, I have come to realize that even though it is not new, for the same price bracket, it's a fantastic alternative.
Surely, they are not made for the same purpose, but it's hard not to want to buy another one. I think I can find the same satisfaction (lightweight, nimble, etc) if I can find a clean 1J S14 with working heat and A/C (I've owned an RB S13 before)....

yea i would love to see that too, but im pretty sure that would mess with the balance of the car. not to mention how low the hood is ont this car and how low the engine would have to sit. cant wait to see how this new engine is gonna handle hp. |

Guys I'm not saying put a 2 jz in the frs I'm saying that u can bolt a jz motor into a lex sc300. Also suspension, brakes and drivetrain parts are interchangeable. Could build a single turbo monster for a fraction of the cost of a supra and insure for dirt cheap. Then he also can buy a frs with left over cash
