2014 FR-S Head Unit + Subwoofer
I have searched everywhere in the forum and I have not found a clean solution to this. My 2014 is in dire need of a sub-woofer (which I already have).
This newer head unit does not appear to have a sub Pre-out jack. I really do not want to start splicing wires on this head unit. So who has the wiring diagram? Has anyone figured out a clean way to install an amp+sub on a 2014? If so please share your knowledge in the topic.

Buy this and repin them, then connect it to the plug on the rear trunk amp and splice into it.

Ok, so I don't have to mess with the headunit then? That's even better! I still have not seen this trunk amp. I will take a look tomorrow morning. Thanks guys! I guess I was not paying attention.

I literally just did this, it was actually easier than I thought once all the research was done. Just some trial and error on my part that you can skip by buying those two harnesses and splicing them instead of the actual stock wires. This thread should have all you need:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12010 TLDR just run a power cable from the battery to the back, then splice into the signal wires from the amp, already in the trunk. Easy peasy. Make sure you run a power cable strong enough to support what you want in the future, I settled on a 6 gauge cable from a $35 amp kit from walmart. Good value since similar amp kits were at least $80-$100 at Bestbuy but were only 8 gauge, etc. |
