Ouch. That must really really suck for that poor fella. I'm positive that he could've ran his car at 8 to 10 pounds and not have any problems with his engine kicking the bucket. FI isn't for everyone I guess, and for me it's a matter of risk vs. reward. This ESC with the Nameless header might be an amazing combo, or you could shell out the dough and go full time FI. I'm still undecided.

The FRS/BRZ cars are not "super-cars", but for a pretty reasonable amount of money, owners can overcome their principle weakness and make them a lot more fun to drive. This is the guiding principle behind the best and most successful car-anything upgrades. I'll just add a little bit here to plug the ESC/Phantom idea.... I like that it is a huge upgrade in performance, but with some limits. Experience has shown me (personally), that boost is an addicting experience. My old '89 Mazda 626 was one of the fastest family sedans on the road in the early 90's. It was actually faster than alot of performanced classed cars at it's 7.3psi stock boost. At a modded 12psi of boost, it was knocking off the best Mustangs, and toying with some of the very best of the stock imports. At 16psi, it started jumping out of gear at 70mph, while having problems with the clutch (any clutch I could find actually) hooking up. The ESC/Phantom idea, gives you a huge upgrade, and some reasonable limitations for the cost. Enough to make the car alot more fun, but not so much potential that it will burn holes in your brain about what 5 more psi could do, and make you finally wreck the car. |

I had a few questions cross my mind, as I haven't managed to make it all the way through the 140 pages, they may have already been covered. Some of them may be niche and only interest me, but here they go.
1. Can an hour/minute meter be added to the system to keep track of how much it is used? say inline with the pedal switch, so when it's pressed the meter will tick along and keep track? 2. Is there any maintenance? I don't think the electronics will need any, but the system does have a turbo style compressor housing/wheel, is there any bearings that need to be lubed, or oil that can/needs to be changed? 3. the battery voltage meter, can you turn this screen off so that it doesn't flash at you all the time, or when driving in the dark? thanks. |

The screen can't be turned off or dimmed. You can place the arm switch anywhere you want; in view or out of view. If you like, you can keep it in the glove box.

Haven't touched my car in 18 days due to vacation. Will be trying out how the battery works with such a long stay. I'll let everyone know soon.

Forgot to start it last night. I was dead tired. Fired on first try this morning.
