Honestly I've raced from digs and from rolls and the only cars that I've lost to were 1. 350Z with full bolt ons. 2. 3.5 Altima Coupe with bolt ons. and 3. fully built srt4.
I've raced newer SI coupes and won. Old civics. Miatas. Integras. You'd be surprised. In the world of NA 4 cylinders it's pretty quick.

Yepper, and this one is even more fun, at 14,100 ft, with gravel sections (not any more ... ) in a roadster. You see the guard rails .... no? .... because there weren't many of them....

I'm happy with this car when I cycle it through the gears. Launching and shifting at 7,000 the car feels fast.

Downshifting to second from 60kph feels fast.

Putting your foot down in the current gear and feeling the torque dip is the main issue.

Can't wait to put headers on and get rid of that.

Have ur eyes on a specific header? And if so do you know if it's street legal? That torque dip is my only issue with the car lol

Street legal? I don't know what that means, but there are several brands of headers out there. IMO best bet is if there is a good local shop that has a header and you could talk to 'em about it etc etc.

Totally agree with OP. I've had mine for 2 wks and I came from an 02 Xterra with 150k miles so this thing feels smokin, and I haven't even really let it loose yet (trying to break in til 1000m).. Many years ago I had a '84 300zx turbo but I've almost forgotten what that was like to drive. I'm sure if I was coming straight from another sports car, things might be different but as Cypher said in The Matrix "Ignorance is bliss".

I've never said an unkind word about my car, but it is all perspective and the roads you drive it on.

My commute to work is essentially two bends and 25 miles of straight. It feels slow, even when I'm doing 75mph. But I took it out for five miles of country road driving the other day, and it felt like a rocket.

Its funny im coming from a 2013 2.5 camry se
and the frs feels more responsive better throttle response but not by much .

This has been debated so many times.. It is all relative to what you are used to. For a sports car the FT86 is slow. But this car was not designed for straightline speed. If you want a fast car, you should have bought one. In terms of the majority of cars on the street, it is plenty quick enough but you do have to keep the RPM's high to really get the most out of the car.

Speed on the current model is the elephant in the room.

But the elephant is sideways (and smiling)
