Variety is the spice of life. There are a bunch of capable cars between the various drivetrains. And to the above Golf R comment.... it's AWD. lol

Everyday I consider selling my FRS. As it's a daily driver and I drive a lot for work. I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying something that gets a bit better mileage and is a bit more comfortable to get in and out of 10 times a day. If I would not have needed to replace my daily last year but instead this year, I would not own my FRS.

Right now, if I had to buy new under $25k I would consider the new Mazda6 or Mazda3. Outstanding value, fun, good looking, great mileage and you can still get 6sp mannies.

I've driven lots of FWD cars that I feel are more fun than the FRS.

Nissan is bringing back their Nismo brand to include a Sentra, it will have nearly the same power as the Focus ST.

The new Mazda3 is really nice. I agree - especially with the optional aero package that you can get from Mazda. They showed it at SEMA, it would not be a horrid DD - the acceleration is as quick as the FR-S in the 2.5L Skyactiv and the steering response is pretty damn good.

I could deal with this as a DD

I just traded in my 2010 Mazdaspeed3 for a 2013 BRZ. MS3 was modded a little bit. intake/race pipe/hpfp internal/cobb accessport pro-tuned. It was a fast and fun little hatchback that fits a cali king memory foam mattress in the back. LOL

Wanted to get a light/6mt/rwd coupe for my next car and BRZ was a perfect car for it.

Considered a DC2 type-r like someone else mentioned, but it's hard to find the right one and since it's so old less reliable. (some day though, some day)

Focus ST-test drove it and I thought it was pretty tacky and disappointing, and honestly felt underpowered. I really didn't like that car, including the interior. I don't understand why so many people like it.

Civic SI--Disappointed with it, it drove ok and had good turn-in imo, but stupid that they lowered the redline to 7000, and transmission doesn't feel that great to me even tho many others seem to love the transmission, plus the gearing seemed too short at least in 1st and 2nd. Then in the car I test drove there was no engine water temp gauge and the dealer guy couldn't find it either. That was the last straw. He just said "the light comes on when the water temp gets too hot."

I personally did not consider any FWD cars, my first car was a Ford Escort ZX2, after that I have been stuck on RWD and AWD cars. I will likely never own another FWD car, I love the feeling of sliding around a bit (or a lot), and I didn't think I would ever buy another AWD car after owning one, but I did end up finding one that was fun enough for me to consider driving AWD again.
