I said over and over in my build thread that when I first bought the car, I thought it would need an extra 100+hp EASY. Then...I drifted it at the track a few times and thought, ya know, it really only needs an extra 50 or so.

I thought that for a good 4-5 months and over the past month or so. I've gotten back to the point to where I think the car really needs the extra. I'd like to break the 300whp mark. I've yet to have a car that has.

I had a KA-T 240sx that made mid 200s. As well as other normal cars that made in the mid 100s. Owned a '12 WRX Stage 2+ that made around 290awhp. Nothing over the 300 mark though.

I think it comes down to what you're using the car for. Some people really only need an extra 50hp or so. Some people have large tracks where they could make use of an extra 100. Some people are perfectly content with stock power. Some people feel the need for a full build/engine swap and make over 400whp. Everybody's different. I think that no matter what though, you'll get used to whatever power you have and will have the thought (what if it had X amount more).

While I'm sure after a while, I would get the urge to want more, I think ~300whp would keep me happy for a long time.

I just made the jump to 274 WHP a week ago and told my tuner "it's perfect, plenty of power" and now after 1 week... it needs more

If you are a true car enthusiast and loves tuning, there is no such thing as enough power, and I say that based on experience.

Im not too sure about that. Too much powa at one point can upset the balance of the car. I've driven cars that would be faster with less power.

True, but then we go back to asking what do you want from this power and the car in general. If you are building the car with tracks in mind you obviously don't want a huge turbo and a shit load of useless power on top, but if you want a street/drag warrior (like i do for example) you can neglect a few things.

I always love giving an example of a single cab truck i used to drive, it had 700rwhp (if not more) and the car was built with the intention of just having fun, and we kept adding more and more power. Smiles just grew bigger and bigger

What a pointless rant. Everyone has different tastes and different uses for the car. I daily my FRS so I may only "need" 300-400whp at the very most. But when I buy another DD then I may "need" more. How is that difficult to understand? Not everyone wants to drive the same amount of power, the same exact way.

Some people want to live a little, shame on you for calling them out on it. FFS.

Just drive stock brz/frs at 100% instead of driving 300whp+ at 50-75%. You'll save a lot of dough.

10 pounds per hp does not make for a fast car. Quick perhaps, but certainly not fast by modern standards. Then again it's all relative. If you drive a Prius daily, a v6 accord would feel 'fast'. It still isn't, though.

And if anyone really watches the "Top Gear" the "BBC Version" they have already showed the car can easily whip out the rear-end with them "Pizza Cutter Wheels" thank you Jeremy Clarkson, that with the 7 inch tires all the way around you can drift this car straight off the lot.

So there are many objectives to do to this car including getting wider and +1, at least, tires.

I would love to see a plus 100 Crank BHP all motor, but for some reason I see that route costing more, especially in the way of Man Hours by a shop who know what the hell the are doing.

This car will just be my DD after parking the PriusC. My older Prius is much past its depreciable effects under my asset T accounts.

Just an off the topic question, going E85 do you have to change out your Injectors and fuel Rail? They always do with the Porsches. I know of a few fellows making their own hooch for their E85.
