Here is the Recaro Sportster CS I installed on Monday evening.

As for the passenger side weight sensor, does anyone know if Scion uses the same sensor in other cars besides the FR-S? I spent some time working with a dealership and apparently, the sensor is not available separately, you can only buy the sensor as a part of a seat assembly (ie the entire seat).

While it might be fairly easy to remove the sensor from the factory seat, installing it properly in the Recaros will take quite a bit more effort and I am trading my current FR-S in for a new one in a couple of months and want to be able to swap the Recaros directly into the new car and put the old seats back in. It will be a LOT easier for me to be able to get an extra sensor rather than try and use the one thats in the original passenger seat.

As to the air bag replacement, its not going to explode without applying voltage and isn't inherently dangerous. Without doing some engineering studies to see how it will function in its new installation, its hard to say what might happen (unintended consequences are indeed hard to predict) but I suspect if the new installation mimics the original one, it should be fairly safe as the side impact doesn't fire directly at an occupant.

On the table?

I'm not exactly juggling the things around the garage

Swapping the ones in an sg forester into a gr sti seat was actually more complicated than this particular application was.

I used Recaro seat rails. Expensive but worth it, IMO, unlike the Planted adapter brackets I used to mount the rails to the floor bolt locations, which I was not very impressed with, especially for the price.

Resistors for the airbags, transferred the weight sensor from the factory seat

Hey guys! Im looking to swap both my seats out and i was worried about the airbag warning. Everyone just puts a sensor in; is there another not so sketch way? or just duck tape it down? also i was wondering will i run into problems swapping the passenger side seat too? Thanks! @spitfire481 did you have to do that?

Thanks!

The drivers seat just needs a resistor stuck into the airbag connector that comes out from under the carpet underneath of the seat. Nothing else. The passenger seat needs the same airbag plug resistored, but also needs the weight sensor transferred over into the new seat, underneath of the fabric/lower foam. I think there MIGHT be a way to turn off the passenger weight sensor through Toyota techstream software. More than likely it will still show a fault since it is not plugged in and will still show an open circuit

It may help if you posted the distance between the mount holes on your seats, this way it can be cross-referenced to other seat rails.

I know Bride seats offers a bracket that allows their rails to be used with Recaro buckets.

I'm running a Zeta III + Bride rail myself.
