It boggles my mind why anyone would upgrade their calipers, then downgrade on the pads?
You're far better off just running stock calipers/rotors with better pads.

That's like saying [super model] will date me, but she has the clap. Don't skimp on the pads.

The reason why I did the sti brembos are solely for the aesthetic purpose as I don't track my car. Like someone mentioned that those brembos In a white finish are pretty
.So solely on that purpose, can anyone give me any recomendation for a pads that street DD Friendly that works great one cold and wet days ? I run those DBA 4000 T3 rotors at this moment .... I heard good things about stoptech.... I did bought those akebono performance ceramic, but I don't mind to spend on another set if they're performs on the specific cold and wet well. Thanks guys Tan |

i'm running the HAWK HPS Brake Pads on my '04 sti for the last 5k and really like them. i don't track my car but drive it hard and take it for the occasional spirited drive through some local twisties. pads aren't terrible for dust, no noise and great all around performance in wet and dry.

I have hawk HPS and they work great regardless of temperature. Admittedly It doesnt get much below freezing here in norcal but if its cold or wet they work fine. As for performance, I just got back from a track day this past Saturday and they were fantastic. No noise, tons of heat and a great smell when pushed.

Can't stand Hawk HPS. Ferodo 2500 is a good sporty daily drivable pad. The stop tech pads are a good option on the cheap. There might be some newer options but these are my two go tos for a fun did pad. - Andy |

Yeah! that's right. I tried both Ferodo DS2500 (H) but aren't very Sport and Brembo's.... They are mostly for "Road use" but not intense. They aren't so much reactive to fading. Now I fit Pagid U2487 (front) the grey type, RS15...they are fantastic, good initial grip and up to 650C° increase very fast. Sometimes may occour overbraking when very hot. Pagid needs a proper "setup" to be 100% operative. I think they are the more performing pads for road/track day.

What is a good pad for 100% street (including winter temps) on bigger brakes than stock? Is it possible to find a pad like this?
I'm thinking AP sprint size. |
