Robispec radiator/oil cooler takeoff plate O-ring

Finally getting my turbo kit and other parts, including the Robispec radiator/oil cooler installed, and the Robispec kit came without the large (roughly 2") O-ring for the takeoff plate.

Does anyone know the specs for that O-ring? I've left a message on his phone, but he's shown to be very hard to get hold of.

If anyone could help me out with either contacting Robispec, or finding the specs on this O-ring it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I heard that Skullworks makes some of the parts for Robispec? I tried to find their info but failed. Maybe someone knows either Robispec, or Skullworks info so I can get this O-ring, or at least the specs so I can find it myself?

My car is at the shop, I'm renting a car, we need this O-ring to finish the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to help, but I haven't received my unit yet.

Coming up 5 months now. Sigh.

Yeah, I waited a LOT longer than he said it would take but finally got mine. It looks good, but now this O-ring is missing and I can't finish my car until i get it.

I guess I'll either run it without the oil cooler part, or get a Mocal takeoff plate. Not sure if the fittings will be the same though. I'd rather just get this $1 part, but Robispec is impossible to get hold of.

Thanks. Sent a PM to Skullworks as well. Hopefully I'll hear back from one of them.

Everything's already been set back a week, renting a car til it's done, hoping I can get this stupid O-ring to finish the car soon.

I'm interested in the Robispec radiator but man, seems like a very dodgy person to get a hold of and that is a big issue for me. Hope you figure out you part issue Mike

Here in Aus bearing shops sell orings. You could just wander into one and the take up plate measured and an oring fitted for a dollar or two. Surely there are places like that in the US also.

Most threads I see about this oil cooler have 2 components

1) zomgpp this is amazing

2) it took me months to get and the guy hardly communicated

It is a good solution but what happens if you need a replacement or something? few months of down time?

For me I'm leaning to the Mishimoto setup but I got some time to see how things pan out since I'm not going FI for at least a year.

Monday I'm going to take the plate to a local bearing shop that carries every O-ring made. Just not sure if it's a square or round O-ring. I'll have to look at the groove and see what's best.

If I can't find anything suitable I'll order the Mocal thermstat takeoff plate. It would suck to have to spend another $200 though.

If I have any issues with the radiator, I think I''m SOL.

It should be a round O-ring and Turdinator said, you should be able to find one at a shop.

Sucks that you had to waited that long, same happened to me and it was driving me crazy. I installed mine about a month ago along with the turbo kit, no issues at all except that the oil cooler fittings will be really close to the frame.

Got a call from Mike at Skullworks today. He was nice enough to give me the McMaster part # for the O-ring, so I'll be able to order it up on monday.

Thanks Mike!

5 months? I just sent the paypal for my rad/oil cooler to Robispec yesterday.

Am I about to regret this decision? Hope not.
