the optional radios are usually expensive compared to aftermarket options. usuallly towards $2k for any of the NAV options.

one good thing though is that all scion radios are plug and play between the models, even through model years.
the tC/xB/xD/iQ all have the same radios as options (Base/Premium/NAV).
and seeing that the FR-S also has the same base radio, and that what seems to be the Bespoke system looks physically the same as the premium HU you can get from scion.
you could get an slightly older Scion NAV for cheaper or even find someone selling one for cheap (happens a lot.) and plug it in and it will all work just as well.

i bought the Alpine NAV system for cheap because they were clearing them out
I have a 2006 tC and was able to plug in the old 2010 Scion Alpine NAV and install the new USB/AUX and everything worked perfectly and only spent $400, as opposed to $500 for just the premium HU without NAV.

This is all good stuff. But I think I'll stick with a new one. i'll either opt for the ugraded radio with lcd screen or the nav w/ screen for $2k. thanks

thats cool. just putting the information out there.
I say "old" but it is still new in box, like buying it on clearance, only used if it is from someone else' car.

but honestly if the Bespoke HU is just the premium pioneer HU just with an added software module or something, i don't think it will cost as much as 2k.
like with the Alpine Nav HU i have now, when Scion offered it, it was offered 2 ways, for the regular "Premium" HU that was "Nav Ready", you could get the Nav module and end up with a NAV HU for like half the cost of buying the "Scion Navigation System" HU that had DVD playback and a bigger screen for $2k.

Bespoke with pioneer's Zypr

http://www.zypr.net/zypr-powers-new-...inment-system/
Scion announced today in Detroit that their new Scion FR-S sports car would include a new connected infotainment audio system called BeSpoke, which is powered by Zypr. From the release: Scion’s BeSpoke aims to offer a higher level of connectivity with features that drivers have been asking for such as access to a wide variety of personalized content and services. “Beginning last year, all Scion models come standard with Bluetooth® Hands-Free and HD Radio™ Technology,” said Jack Hollis, Vice President Scion. “Scion’s new BeSpoke system will take in-car technology to the next level, offering owners the ability to be more connected.”

Here are the connected services that Zypr offers...navigation is included but its an API or app. Zypr is actually pretty impressive if you read all the documentation.

Android and IOS are both supported...by the way Zypr is part of Pioneer..Bespoke is the name Scion gave the system. They want this system in all Scion in the near future.

Not always. Wheels and ICE are sometimes port installed. In fact, I would guess the head units will be port installed given that Canada, and presumably the U.S., will have multiple head unit options for the FR-S, and Subaru is using a different manufacturer for their head units. It makes for since to ship them without head units.

Not to be too nitpicky (OK, maybe I do), but the zypr.net says "include" but the official press release from the auto show linked to from zypr.net says:

"Scion also announced that its 2013 FR-S will be the first car to offer a connected infotainment audio system called BeSpoke, powered by Pioneer’s Zypr™. "

That could mean its an option, not standard.

I know...it's 50/50..scion has told me they don't know yet. I have asked them directly. But it looks like the Bespoke is a more integrated system, so it could be a factory option or a factory standard feature. Its probably not going to be port installed.

But hey in 30 days we will find out..
