Lol did you get one last year. How's the point system work in MD? In Cali every year and a half traffic points get erased.

Glad to see it worked out for you. Better than the initial thought.

I've had one ticket. I was 16 and got caught for a 55 in a 25. At this time I had a Nissan Maxima. My father knew a cop so I ended up doing 20 hours of community service. No points on my license. Insurance stayed the same. I've had many many close calls, but I try not to speed anymore. My mood reflects on how I drive.

They last 2 or 3 years here. 8 points is a temporary suspension, 12 points is a revocation. Reckless driving is 3+ violations at one time or >20 over posted limit.

I got two warnings and two tickets last year. 0 points on my license for the last 5 years.

The State of New York offers a unique challenge for successfully fighting traffic tickets. Actually this challenge exists in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and New York City. If you receive a citation in these cities you are essentially doomed. These cities utilize the DMV Transit Adjudication Bureau. This facility is not a real court. You have no right to discovery, you don’t get a supporting deposition, you cannot plea bargain and you don’t even get a real judge. Appeals are virtually non-existent and according to a recent report, the Bureau is required to maintain a 65% conviction rate in order to maintain revenues. The only positive is that the Administrative Law Judge doesn’t have the power of incarceration so you won’t end up in jail.

The only hope for a small measure of success in this venue is to file as many continuances as possible and hope that the officer finally doesn’t show for your appearance date. This is the only way you will manage to beat a citation in this skewed excuse for a court system. As hard as it is to believe, this system is legal and constitutional. Continued efforts to revise this system have been vetoed by the governors at the time since it is realized that this system is a money machine. The best advice is not to get a ticket in any of these locations."
I'm in Albany but have never gotten a ticket here. This kinda scares me actually.
This is the truth. I got a ticket in NYC (my previous tickets were in neighboring areas). The judge said there is no "plea bargaining". The only thing he can do is reduce the ticket to the police officers "estimated speed
".

For me it was 73 in a 50 and the estimated speed was 70. So this reduced it from 6 points to 4 and eliminated the $300 fee. I guess that is good but out of NYC I have been set free of 83 in a 50 before when going to court.

I have been driving quite slow in the city limits these days...

Lol!
Here you can do driving class to drop it.

And it doesn't matter where the officer pulls you over as long as they see you do it. Sometimes it takes a bit to catch up. Sometimes they want to run your plate first and that can sometimes take forever.

Well its not really a commute. Im a dental tech and we deliver to dentists. So 4 hours of picking up and delivering haha. That's why I fill up every other day on my car, and why I have 13k miles but I've only had it for 5 months brand new lol

A friend of mine works for Ducati and constantly drives. His company vehicle is an Audi Q5 and they don't like them to get more than 12k miles before the switch them out to a new car. Must be nice.

They were outside of 18 months of each other and completed driving school for each. Insurance is lower now, seeing as I haven't gotten a ticket in more than a decade, but it's also lower thanks to some creative work between my very helpful mom and I on our shared insurance plan (which thankfully has no age limit) and primary driver classifications.

You sound like me man! I don't like paying the town or state or whatever my hard earned cash so I'm just going to be a little more careful.

Also I plan on investing into a police radar scanner thingamabob.
