Need Advice onFull Blown Stage 2 Turbo

Hey everyone, I'm posting here in search of advice.

Originally I was planning on going with the AVO Stage 2 Turbo but I'm worried that I will eventually want more power.

So I'm currently in the market for the Full Blown Stage 2 kit, which will probably cost in the 30k area by the time all is said and done.

Stage 2 Turbo: $6995
8.8 Differential package: $6495
Clutchmasters FX 400: roughly $1000
Full Blown Shortblock: $2995
Labor + Tune: $5000
+ Expenses

Now with the FullBlown Stage 2 kit, I'm looking at 600RWHP I have questions.

I'm by no means a mechanic or very familiar with boosting a vehicle to 3x the power it was designed for.

I want to make sure that I'll be able to reliably DD the car without having to worry about parts breaking due to the extra power, so if I'm missing any supporting mods in my list, it would be appreciated if someone can list them and the approximate cost. I plan on keeping the car for the rest of my life so I want it to last.

The 8.8 differential package comes with new axles and mounts as well.

Would I need to upgrade my transfer case? Anything else?

Thanks Everyone

Update with new build/goal:

• FBM Base turbo kit with a GTX3076 upgrade with a .63 A/R backhousing, 1000cc injector upgrade, ceramic coating, heat wrap, turbo blanket

•FBM Built block 9.0:1 Compression Ratio

•FBM oil cooler

•FBM catch can

•FBM Radiator upgrade

•Clutchmasters FX400

Goal = 450RWHP on 91 octane

What do you guys think?

Not sure how long the transmission will hold that power. But have you looked into cooling options as well? Fullblown makes a radiator and oil cooler kit for this car. I would highly recommend those as well.

I also recommend picking up a beater for daily driving. If you plan on dropping 30k into a 30k vehicle, a 1500 daily is probably a good idea.

You pretty much covered the basis but like Ian said. I would recommend a radiator and oil cooler and a catchcan if you are pushing alot of boost.

I would first ask you what the goal for the car is? What do you plan to do with this $30k 600 WHP? Are you planning to drag race the car? I can think of alot of cheaper ways to go quicker. The move from an AVO Stage 2 to a Full Blown Stage 2 with built motor is a HUGE move.

Agreed, to be honest, 600whp in this platform seems entirely asinine.

Let's assume a 20% power train loss, you are talking 720 crank horse power in a car that weighs north of 2700lbs (especially with your mods). That gives you a HP/LB ratio of 1hp per 3.75lbs. Do you have any idea how many cars have a HP to weight ratio like that? That puts you far ahead of a Ferrari 458 (and Enzo, and possibly the XX!) Know what else those cars have? Carbon fiber chassis, brake and suspension components; aerodynamics for down force and years of testing.

In your list of very expensive parts, you do not mention brakes, wheels, tires or suspension upgrades to handle that power... Tut is right, this is a huge move and one that does not seem incredibly thought out.

I am simply asking for feedback, part of the thinking process. A BBK would also be in the list of mods but the help I was looking for was more towards power handling. It goes without saying the car would need new suspension and what not to handle the extra power effectively.

I am willing to take constructive critisism and flaming . I do plan on drag racing the car but I also plan on using it as my summer DD, just for a fun vehicle.

My brother owns a 2013 GTR, which the frs is a completely different car, but its also a 115k. If I can make my FRS, pretty evenly matched with a gtr's performance, for almost half the price, I would think it's not a bad idea. Yes, I'm also aware that at 600whp, the power to weight ratio would blow the gtr's away.

But I'm here to find out if simply put, pushing that much power out of this car will always have issues or if after a certain amount of changing parts it would be just as reliable like it was from day 1.

Flame on folks im ready to take a big hit and im only here for thoughts and help

I'm all ears, so feel free to list the other cheaper ways

I currently have an 04 tiburon that I drive throughout the winter seasons instead of my FRS.

600 would also be on 91 because that's what I'm limited to in my area.

gotta work on dropping your compression, I guess that is the built block eh? new pistons included? ( and springs for your valves, etc)

Yeah, that's where the built block factors in, unfortunately gas sucks here in the northern parts of Ontario.

But like I said, I'm still here just get ideas, thoughts and opinions, there is still a good possibility I'll go with AVO Stage 2 with about 260whp. I don't want to run into endless problems by pushing too much power out of the platform.

If I go this route it won't be for a while so I'm anxious to see how the car holds up, and to get some feedback on how everything handles the extra power.

you might be hard pressed to get 600whp on 91 "SAFELY". Lj @FullBlown might be able to elaborate more on this.
