Working on that now. Hoping to have resolution within a day or two. International ROM support is a bit tricky since I don't have access to the cars personally. So I have to take baby steps for safety's sake.

Knock correction Learned Value (assuming you are logging with OFT) is actually the amount of timing being added in due to absence of knock. Which is a good thing. In the OTS maps, you will see this value go as high as 6 deg which is what you are seeing.

It's not, IMHO, a well named channel since it sounds like it would represent the amount of timing being retarded due to knock, not the other way around. But I wanted to keep the names consistent among with other tuning software (ecutek, brzedit, etc,.) Maybe I'll rename it to avoid confusion in the future. Call it Ignition Advance Correction perhaps.

ECU tuning and data logging is all very new to me, but I love learning and it interests me. I just got an OpenFlash tablet and have been playing around with it.

I have a couple of questions that I couldn't find clear answers from anywhere.

When I data log my pulls, it should be under WOT in 3rd gear? Does it show me everything I need vs. doing pulls in 2nd or 4th gear?

What happens if I do pulls only in partial throttle? Can I still analyze the data with partial throttle pulls?

I've been reading and learning a lot about ECU tuning and optimizing. Unfortunately, I haven't really found one place that answers it all. If anyone have any resources that are good for learning, it will be much appreciated.

Nasioc has a good section...written years ago so It's been looked over.

The targets won't be same but the method and what to look for and monitor should be. No boost but otherwise it's the same style ecu and the same people are tuning the cars.

FYI, the guys at Vishnu are working on a nice video tutorial on how to conduct, view and analyze datalogs. Their existing video tutorial on the subject was BMW specific (but still useful):

[ame]http://youtu.be/wlEfyKIlWdg[/ame]

This new one will be specific to the GT86. So it should help those who are absolutely new to this kind of stuff. I'll post it up when it is ready

Anyone know what the target wot AFR is for stg1?

I seem to be about 11.7-12.2 which seems on the rich side but idk.

Also if KC learned is adding timing how do I tell if it's pulling say fine knock learning or something??

Did my first datalogging data zap today.

I am not tech geek, and it was easy.

1)Hit "start" while in the OFT realtime datalogging window
2)Run through the gears at WOT
3)Hit "stop"
4)Connect OFT to OF Manager
5)Open datalogging
6)Click Export
7)Go to Datazap website & upload file
8)Graph shows up with RPM only
9)Click on the labels to add that parameters you want to see (AFR, LTFT, etc.)
10) Click the little page icon in the upper right corner of the graph to save the current screen as a pic
11)Upload to your preferred photosite for hosting
12)Link photo to here to post it up

Stage 2 E85 run on stock car:

Overall, my car looks pretty happy with AM at 1.0 & KC learned in 5's. The AFR's are rich - lower mid 11's. It's 21 degrees out, and my only mod is a K&N filter - so it my car my not be flowing quite enough air for the stage 2 E85. I would think the LTFT would go more negative with it running rich?

@StormTrooper to be able to compare you need to do a couple of consecutive 3rd gear pulls or higher over the flattest run you can find. This is done to generate decent loading on the engine. Watch the overall ign timing or knock learned value, if at any point it's not consistent then it's pulling timing slightly. If the values are perfectly consistent in every run then there's no timing being pulled.

Remember that the ECU wont pull the IAM down unless it sees repeated knock conditions. The consistency of ign timing on decently loaded WOT pulls is a much better indicator. This isn't so easy to indicate partial throttle issues though.
@Sterling Doc don't forget that the LTFT's are not added to when running open loop (ie. WOT). They are only affected by consistent STFT during closed loop conditions.
