Just drove by a bike wreck. No emergency responders there yet. Just 4 cars and a bus driver taking care of them. Heard a chick screaming. Didn't want to add to the craziness so took off. A few people were on the phone.

Ride safe folks. @$!^#

Hey guys I'm new to the forum. Recently moved to Tempe from Flagstaff for work and I've been following a lot of the AZ 86 action on Instagram and the web for months. I finally decided that since I didn't live in snow country anymore my beloved '98 Outback needed a new garage mate so I'm the proud owner of a 2014 BRZ Limited in WRB. I've always loved driving and I'm glad I finally live in a place where owning a sports car is possible.

Anyways I'd love to get in with the 86 community here, and I know I missed the Bash last weekend. Are there any other meets coming up?

Has anyone ever had a company pack up and move your stuff a state over? I have had a Reno storage unit for like 2 years now and I hate paying for it. I priced out for me to fly one way and rent a Uhaul and that in itself was expensive. I don't see a cheap solution to this problem. Does anyone have any advice?

Good luck?

lol. Jk. I don't trust the companies that move things for you. Have you seen the way they load and unload things? I'd fly back rent a truck and do it myself

Gah!!! I just got the dreaded cricket chirping

Has anyone here had the issue and had it resolved? I'm currently on page 14 of 115+ pages of threads to go through and was hoping someone had some first hand experience on a fix. I may just end up skipping to the end and reading backwards at this point.

I did like the movie Memento...

I love that movie. And no, no fix. I had my pump replaced and was cricket free for 6,000 miles. Then went E85 and it went away (backwards of what toyota said would happen). It came back, always does... There is a new pump that has an insulated top to dampen the sound and make it quieter, there is also a TSB for certain vin#'s. Call camelback toyota and ask if your car would qualify for that.

I read through a lot of those the other day too. Unfortunately even the 2014 model gets chirps so the new fuel pump is the same. I heard mine around 400 miles last week. As far as I can tell adding a lubricant is the best way. Maybe someone else has found a better way besides installing an aftermarket pump.

Japanese fuel has sulfur as a lubricant and some part in the pump is designed to be lubricated by it. Unfortunately our fuel doesn't have it. I read that a tablespoon of 2 stroke oil every fill up will do the trick.

Purge. I do it every couple years. If you have not used it in that long then it's mostly just stuff. Fly back and get any items you may want. Have a yard sale or use a consignment place and let them sell the rest. Use the money to either pay for the trip or just buy new stuff.

I've read that as well, but really? To have to add lubricant each time you fill up is ridiculous!

@nelsmar do you happen to know if this has any real detrimental effect on our engines? Considering you broke yours, I figure you might know
