It's a Canadian thing. We're so embittered by years of living in permafrost that we pretend to take pride in enduring the cold. We hate it just as much as everyone else, in truth. I know I personally love the beach season way more than the Christmas season.

Rated 24th out of 24 "Standard Touring All Season" tires. Worst tires in a crap category!
3.6/10 for light snow traction, 2.6/10 for deep snow traction, 2.5/10 for ice.

I would not be on those tires this winter if I might have to drive an FR-S or BRZ in the snow.

Honestly I have to thank this tire, as it prevented us from buying a '13 Mazda3 to replace my wife's '05. The 3 is also on these tires, and the handling felt so uninspired compared to our old 3 that I didn't want anything to do with the newer model. Based on reviews of this tire, that could have been mostly down to them sucking so bad.
I had them on my car, they were terrible.

Best thing i ever did is pull them before the first tank of gas was done.

Kind of feel bad for the guy that paid $300 for them on cl.

Wow 26F like that's like minus 3C... that's not winter even.

If you have Bridgestone All Season tires you are so right, your winter will be interesting, as in the Chinese curse: may you live in interesting times.

Ha no kidding. Well if I have major traction issues or lack thereof I will be changing the tires out for snows and steelies prolly. The purchase and change will not happen until I actually drive on snow and ice with what I have first.

Mmm, I'm definitely in the "get winter tires noaw" camp. Just for the sake of future headache due to tire shortage/accident (knock on wood)...just get them asap....plus you'll be adding life to your spring/summer/fall tires.

I plan on making observations of my experience this winter. Hopefully some interesting conversations and helpful info for others will come out of this thread.

I will comment after my first drive in winter conditions. While I am prepared to get dedicated snow tires and possibly dedicated rims I plan on holding out as long as possible.

This is going to be interesting.

And this is why I left Massachusetts! Was so convinced that I was getting away from that bs. It was 17* fahrenheit last night. So glad that 7 days from today my ass will be in Costa Rica for almost two weeks.

And btw, get winter tires. Use your stock rims if you have them as your winter beaters to take the road debris and get a set of nice wheels/tires for summer.

Well, yes .... it could be interesting.

Heck, I drove RWD cars with "regular" tires for 10 winters in Ohio, 2 winters in Germany, 6 winters in Connecticut and 7 winters in Missouri.

Yep, I had some "interesting" winter driving experiences. None of which I wish to re-live ..... iffen ya get ma drift ....

Just had my first winter drive with the Bridgestones...

Wasn't too bad actually, but I'm putting my Goodyear Ice Grip WRT's on tomorrow..not gonna take any chances.

I'll let you know how they work out, they get great reviews on tire rack and work really well on my '07 sonata

Well, everybody else pretty much said it already. Get winter tires!

They're mandatory where I live, which makes a lot more sense than having people slide around everywhere.

Just be careful with RWD in the snow. Best bet is to do what I did: buy a winter beater and put awesome winter tires on it

I guarantee that you will have major traction issues. If you want to slide your car into a snow bank to test the traction, by all means, feel free, but please stay off public roads when you do it.

Take some advice from your elders: buy the tires and have them ready to go.

I went through slight snow in April when I bought this car. I barely survived with the stock bridgestone tires. Buy a set of proper winter tires and you'll be good to go.
