The BRZ shares parts with the impreza but is a much different model. The GC shares its model with the genesis but has different parts. |

The cars development is finished. We know what we are getting, it makes no sense to piss and moan. You've made it clear what you want and that you like the genesis, why not just stop bagging on the power difference and go line up to buy a fucking gen coupe? |

There is a sound difference between making a valid comparison and just being an ass. I've watched the site go from potentially being something very cool, to a total and complete bitchfest, compounded by the same old tired argument, over and over again. That's all. I actually do like the genesis coupe quite a lot. I just think it's too fat. Well, that and the 2013 model has a face only a mother could love..... Anyway I think people will end up comparing and cross shopping them, but people who ultimately drive the Zx6 and ultimately "get it" will buy it. From a tuners perspective, adding power to an FR-S/BRZ will be probably be more effective that subtracting weight from the GC, at least if you want to keep it civilized looking and steetable. They are really two different answers to what amounts to the same question. Neither are "wrong" but you will have people who will give an A+ to one answer and an F to the other. What else needs to be said? |

All of these points the GC shares too. The GC is 182 inches long. The sedan is 195 inches The GC is a low slung coupe. The sedan is typical shape sedan The GC has its own $20k interior. The sedan has a upscale Lexus fighting interior The GC suspension is geared towards sportyness. The sedan luxury Do you remember the first mule for the FT86? It was a shortened Impreza frankenstein. The BRZ platform is from the Impreza. How long have you been following this car? You seem new at it or you're just in denial about it. If this car wasn't based of the Impreza it would have been more expensive. It is what it is. |

But ft86club produces a plethora of useful information (and is by far the best FT86 site). These are the early stages of a new platform that I think will take off, and this community will expand along with it... once the car is released, this site will be an invaluable resource for owners regarding news, TSBs, mods, maintenance, general tips, meets, etc. Some petty bickering in a "versus" sub-forum won't detract from that. If the static is getting to be too much, just add the driftwood users making all the worthless noise to your Ignore list. |

![]() You must be delusional. Yes I have owed multiple cars from Toyota brands. Right now I also own a Nissan and a Honda. Next on the list, and probably before the 86 will be a BMW. I also like Fords and V-dubs. My fav sports cars are Lotii and Porsches. I do have a soft spot for Toyota but I'm not a brand lover, I'm a gear head. I defend Toyota because I think they are given a lot of shit, and unreasonably so. It's kind of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. Especially for a company that has contributed so much the racing and motorsport world (an area I hold close to my heart). I don't care what you like or don't like. I don't know you and I don't need to like you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I have a very broad taste in cars, so I can appreciate them in lots of aspects. I understand you wish the FR-S was turbo's and had more power and blah blah blah. Cool. I would get a turbo version too. In fact, I'd probably attempt to by one of each frikken variant, bank account be damned. But People are already bemoaning how expensive it's going to be. Add turbo hardware and how much do you think it would end up costing? Especially if it had to weigh an at the same curb weight. I do believe there will eventually be a factory turbo FR-S/BRZ. I'm also pretty sure that it will cross the $30k line. Sure... a lot of avg folks would talk about it, but would it sell? You can't get everything for nothing. The package Toyota is offering will do more for the industry and aftermarket (maybe that is making me biased?) than the Genesis ever could. Bring fun back to driving for Joe Blow. Light and cheap. I like it. And I say this to you sitting here after having completed a build on a ~350hp old school rwd that makes the FR-S look chunky by comparison. |
