But it still drives better. I prefer to take mildly modified stock cars onto real world tracks (that I may be able to get on eventually) and time attack. For this, a wide selection of car (even if GT4 models, because I realistically expect to do some track time at Fuji and may only be able to rent some kei car), most accurate real-world tracks, and the best driving physics off of a big dollar gaming PC are what matter. Truthfully, I really did enjoy Forza's appearance customization, but once my car was pretty I'd switch to the PS3 for driving. If I wanted to drive like a knob and hoon all over the place to, err... 'exciting' physics there was GTA or NFS. Also GT5 ripping off Forza's experience point system was stupid. I guess I do agree with you that as an overall game it may be a bit weak, but because it meets the requirements of being an affordable simulator, which is a priority for GT, calling it an embarrassment is way too excessive. It ticks the boxes I need for a more serious experience. Forza, to me, tries to straddle GT's driving realism and NFS's excitement and customization. It doesn't match either one, but in a single game it does both not too bad. But to a player that requires the better driving and accurate tracks, Forza is not sufficient. Conversely, a player that is addicted to achievements dictated by the game, rather than personal recognition of a good clean drive on proper physics and accurate tracks, and wants their car to be exactly how they imagine it, as well as drives in an 'exciting' manner where the car is rolling itself to destruction, well GT5 is not for them.

Yep. If I want to make my car all pretty I would play Forza. If I want to drive then I play GT or iRacing. GT is just easier because the cockpit is always hooked up so it is just sit and go. For iRacing I have to unplug and plug in a bunch of stuff to hook the cockpit to the computer so usually I do not bother. I guess I just like to drive more than play a game. In the winter time, the cockpit is as close as I can get to driving on track.

With GT6 and F5 launching at the same time, I'm really surprised that Polyphony Digital didn't make the game for PS4, or that Sony didn't 'motivate' them to do so. Isn't the point to sell more of the new console?
But what do I know, that whole industry is rather foreign to me. I just play the damn things.

Yeah, that's stupid. It should be driveshaft(s) since FWD cars have two of them.

And if we couldn't use our ps3 - compatible wheels, we'd be as screwed as all those forza 5 folks stuck using a controller to imitate a virtual wheel (no thanks). Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Is this your first rodeo with English, Turismo?
Axles are driveshafts. Merriam-Webster: drive·shaft noun \ˈdrīv-ˌshaft\ : a part of a vehicle that carries power from the gears to the wheels Wikipedia: "Front-wheel drive In British English, the term "drive shaft" is restricted to a transverse shaft that transmits power to the wheels, especially the front wheels. A drive shaft connecting the gearbox to a rear differential is called a propeller shaft, or prop-shaft. A prop-shaft assembly consists of a propeller shaft, a [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slip_joint"]Slip joint - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] and one or more [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_joint"]Universal joint - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]. ![]() I got a chuckle out of this because, while I agree, many of us, including myself, are driving around in the automotive equivalent of a "launch console".

Myself as well. It's never worth it, but in that case, I did want to be the first kid on the block with the new toy.

Forza 5 is pretty amazing. It's been hard putting the controller down since I got it at midnight Thursday. I can't wait to try it out with a racing wheel. Even still, it's a lot of fun with the controller. Of course my first car was the GT86

![]() In a FWD scenario, "driveshaft" is the common usage, so common in fact it was used in Forza. Strike two Turismo.
