If what you removed causes it to leak it was only a matter of time. The sealant doing all the work is relatively far from your fingers until you pull the plate off, don't worry unless you manage to set your engine bay on fire or you need to pull that plate off for some reason (which I have no idea why you would unless converting to an Auto?).

Maybe it was just excess sealant cause it came of really easily and also I noticed on the transmission housing that there was orange sealant on it too that can be removed fairly easily from the outside as there was already some missing.

The Raceseng Cam Plate is ready to be purchased. Instead of doing a group buy which takes days and weeks to fulfill... We decided to offer a discounted price to the first 30 buyers. We only made 30 cam plates, so it is first come first serve! All orders ship same day as long as they are placed before 4PM (EST).

Check out the Cam Plate on our webstore - http://www.raceseng.com/cam-plate-20...r-s-subaru-brz

Any questions, please feel free to email me directly - jarrett (@) raceseng.com

Thanks much!

I highly doubt he was able to put enough force on the plate to break its seal.

Our 2012 FRS is bone dry too... It is not happening on every car. For instance, our autoX racer, Eric Simmon's plate leaked all over. His interior smelled of burned oil something awful.

If you don't have an issue, don't make one by touching it!

Hello I'm new here. I was driving on the freeway last week and it started to smell pretty bad (oil smell). It started to smell when the car was stationary. I haven't checked the plate yet but I'm pretty sure that's the problem.

The car is GT86

The car has around 5000km on it or 3500 miles

The oil changes viscosity due to heat so it is physically possible for the oil keep leaking from the cam plate even though the car is sitting still. Most likely your cam plate is leaking.

I had some leakage a week after i changed my oil. Try to re-tighten your oil drain plug. I learned that if the bolt doesn't sit right just a tiny bit, it'll leak. good luck!
