That's not a new design - it's been experimented with by a number of manufacturers, and it's never been found to be very good.

So if we are proposing slightly crazy engine suggestions, why not throw in the BRM 3.0 litre H16? Built closer to spec and with tighter tolerances and lighter material...that would be one beast of an engine.

There's also the little problem that it takes around 8 seconds to spool up from idle to full power, so the throttle response leaves something to be desired...

Agh true.... Throttle response would definitely be affected as would some cornering ability due to the slightly higher CoG, can't have everything
