I did check it but I had a hell of a time reading that dipstick....to be honest it was the most confusing dipstick I've ever tried to read. It was a pain to put back in also....am I just stupid? That could be the case....

What always amazed me was the noise the engine made up to the 4000rpms. The engine seemed like it was revving madly. Knowing it could go up to 7300rpms ... I was wondering if the the engine was going to blow up at that level. 15,000 miles later with frequent trips to redline ... I am happy to report .... NO issues whatsoever.

This makes me happy

However, I'll most likely still drive like a grandpa and only open it up when I need/want to. Trying to keep the integrity of the car as wholesome as possible for as long as possible.

I just figured it out on my second oil change, if the hole is filled with oil it's past that 'line' on the dipstick, the amount of oil to go from the first to the second line is approximately 1 qt.

Definitely pulled it in and out about a dozen times when I first checked it...

"but there's oil up the side of the thing 4" above the dots?!?!?! No clear line of where the oil is, can I add 1/10th of a quart or do I need the whole thing? who designed this fuckin' thing?"

You're not stupid it's just different than most of the cars we grew up with, the oil filter location makes up for it though

My dealer told me that even if I install an aftermarket exhaust they'll warranty the car, especially if I have them install it. They'll install it for 75 bucks, that's not bad if I can find a good price on an exhaust.
Just don't bank on a butt-dyno difference, but if you want more sound it is worth it for sure.

Change oil for sure to get all the metal shavings out. The dipstick there's two holes, the higher up one is supposed to be the full mark.

A hint for reading the dipstick is to have good light. If that's not good enough, yank that sucker out and lay it down on a paper towel ..... read from the oily spot ....

Yep, it doesn't seem to want to go back in very easy ....

LOL my sentiments exactly! Which hole though? The first one? Or the one all the way up the dipstick back towards the end? Yeah it's very different and since the stick is a really shiny silver it's hard to even see the oil on it especially brand new engine oil.

Yeah I didn't think it would make much of an WHP difference on the dyno. What's the advantage/disadvantage of Tuning? I'd want something efficient and trustworthy that I don't need to fool around with. Basically set it and go sort of deal. I also don't want to add any unnecessary screens or electrical equipment. Does it void the warranty entirely? I will be taking it to the dealer for scheduled maintenance periods.

Tuning with a catback is not necessary at all. If you were to get a tune even without mods there will be gains because the car is dialed in for best motor reliability and what not, not to get the most power out of the engine. So either way, the catback will most likely only gain ~5whp which wont register much on the butt dyno.

I have to laugh because I'm just getting into it. I have a 144 miles so a ways to go yet. But I'm looking forward to the day when I can push her.
